I'm looking for some pics of a Black Wildebeest done as a skull/euro mount. I've found plenty of Blue Wildebeest euro but can't seem to locate a Black. Yes, I did a search and perused threads for over an hour and nada.

I'm trying to decide between shooting a Blue or Black in June and I really like the euro Blue, guess I may have to shoot one of each.

Thanks in advance,
Edge

One of each is the right answer.

One of each is the right answer.
I figured I would get a comment or two to take both but I would like to see what a euro mount Black looks like.

I am hoping to hunt both the next time I do a plains game hunt and will likely do euro on both. My taxidermy bill is eating me up! I too would like to see some good euro pics.
Regards,
Philip

Maybe ask if you can cull a cow along with what you choose. That would be a cool collection of bone and horn. Bull and cow euro.

I'm looking doing this with an Aoudad sheep hunt this fall. I'll try to take both ram and ewe. It should make for a nice euro pair.

thousand right here. I would like to do the same thing but not sure on the funds for more animals.

G Skinner,
One mount that really sticks in my mind was a blue wildebeest centered on a hide much like yours in an archery shop in Georgetown Texas. I always thought that was a classy display of an animal!
Cheers,
Cody

Before I get hate mail, I know that is a black wildebeest! Lol

Kill one of each....you will regret not doing so if you don't

I "need" a black wildebeest to go with my blue which is coming in euro mounted.
I'd also like a bull and cow Cape buffalos euro mounted to go side by side. Someone on AH had a picture of this and it looked very nice.

@ Edge- I agree with the others, here's to hoping that you get a chance at the second biggest specimen of each in June . Looking forward to sharing camp with you.

I got 2 Blues when we went in 2013. Mounted one as a shoulder mount next to the flat skin on the wall and the other(from the flat skin) as a euro mount.
I did not shoot a black. Big mistake. Now I am going back next month to shoot a black for a shoulder mount and maybe one for a euro mount.

I suggest you take both so you will not be "forced" to go back. :)

We will see who has the better PH, Louw or Marius? Will need to eat Ramen noodles for the next 60 days to take both lol

Thanks to all for sharing the pics, I have also decided to Euro my black wildebeest

Shoot both..... no regrets. They are very affordable. Also, get the blue's hide tanned. Makes a great looking rug. The Blacks tail can be made into a little whip too. Ideas......

The hide/rug is really pushing me towards going after a blue first, will see how the hunt goes and maybe take a black as well. After looking at pics of both euro and shoulder mounts, I really like them both shoulder mounted, decisions, decisions. The things a mind does to you when you have too much time before leaving on the first safari in 62 days!

I shot one of each and had them both shoulder mounted. The blue has a fantastic pelt, really impressive colourings
