Good day AH Community!

We are happy to offer this to you all for the third year now and hope that some of you will jump on this opportunity! We are incredibly passionate about our black giraffe bulls over here at Bayly Sippel Safaris and we have one or two black bulls on quota for our 2022 season. This is of course always a part of either ours or the properties management programme. We don't always have the same number of bulls available every year as these kinds of bulls don't just grow on trees. Black Giraffe bulls attain this color through a combination of age and genetics. Some Giraffe - no matter how old they may get - will never go black and this is due purely to theirs genetics. Due to this fact black Giraffe are relatively uncommon. The hunt will take place in the Limpopo province of South Africa at either one of our home bases. Both home bases have a wealth of other plains game hunting available should you wish to hunt some other animals on safari! Its always awe inspiring to see such a large animal up close...and even more so when you look at your tiny knife and wonder where to start cutting!

The hunt looks as follows:

Have you ever seen Giraffe fight or spar?
On my first RSA hunt, I sat in the vehicle while the PH took my buddy off onto the brush to locate a Zebra. After a while two giraffe appeared - one on each side of a high fence that I could see. One had a broken horn and it soon became obvious why. They began to bang heads over the fence and went at it until the PH returned to take the truck out to load up a dead Zebra . They then broke off the fight and disappeared into the brush on their respective side of the fence. An interesting and possibly unique sideshow.

@crs you'd be amazed at how often Giraffe spar with one other. They are often the major culprits when it comes to damaging fences as the bulls on neighboring sides love to "box" one another! Exactly as you described in the situation above. When two bulls really get into it its a fairly devastating show to watch as they don't give up until one truly overpowers the other.

Hi Jay,

Hope you're well.

I'm headed your way in January.

Attending SHOT Show has been a long time bucket list item for me.

Finally made it happen and I'm headed to Vegas.

I know you're some distance from Vegas - but would be keen to catch up if it works out.

Have a good one.
