Last news from the CAR bush. The last hunter was very blessed to take this huge bongo mid May.
He shot it early morning at first light with one shot from his 375HH.
This beauty reach 35'' and should be top 6 SCI. The cherry on top of the cake is the unusual and fantastic shape of the horns.
As you can see on the picture some are bigger !!!! so let's go hunting....

I would think he was buying the beers for a while after taking that cracker .
thanks for teasing us Christophe ........

Just a gorgeous animal! Mature, beautiful!

Great looking animal!

Great Bongo Christophe!

Sure it is a big one!!! but have a look at these 2 monsters !!!!
someone want to guess?

i would guess in the 36 - 37 inch range.

Just amazing !

I think that's a shooter!

Christophe, those are amazing specimens. 2.5 times the ears is good enough for me. The first trail cam picture even looks younger. (in the face)

The horn shape of the original makes certain you are looking at a spiral horn.

Thanks for sharing.

I'm easily as impressed by the mass and the shape as much as the length, just a gorgeous animal!

Based on this huge old bongo that you took in CAR back in 2007 which measured 36 2/8 inches I will say 37 inches for the first one and I would not be surprised if the second one was to reach 38 inches. The second bull is definitely more mature… but again you are the pro when it comes to the orange beauty!

Thanks Jérôme, it is the feeling I have too.
The shape of the horns is perfect, so pretty. I really hope to see them again next year....

Good Morning x84958
I have read your post about Jamy Traut and your hunt in Caprivi. I am planning such a hunt for 2026, Oct with Jamy.
Just a question , because I will combine Caprivi and Panorama for PG, is the daily rate the same the week long, I mean the one for Caprivi or when in Panorama it will be a PG rate ?
thank you and congrats for your story.
Best regards
Philippe from France

Hello Doug,
I am Philippe from France and plan to go hunting Caprivi in 2026, Oct.
I have read on AH you had some time in Vic Falls after hunting. May I ask you with whom you have planned / organized the Chobe NP tour and the different visits. (with my GF we will have 4 days and 3 nights there)
Thank in advance, I will appreciate your response.
Merci
Philippe
