Hunting reports
Africa

Hello y’all,
First want to say thanks for all the valuable information I have received from this forum. I came about this forum reading about Africa hunting/hunts. I was looking for information regarding what papers are needed, what is “saps” , how to travel with firearms, different medical shots required, guides etc! All of this was answered with this site. Couldn’t have done it with out folks posting information and experiences.
Now going on my second trip over the pond next year and hopefully bringing trophy’s back with me this time. Did a cull hunt for my first trip to get a taste of Africa. Now it’s become an addiction. Ha Think about going back about every day.

Thanks again for all the informative information that africahunting has to offer!!

About me , grew up on a farm in northern Kentucky , hunting deer , rabbit and of course squirrel. Can’t forget my second love, fishing some farm ponds for bass, bluegill and crappie. Good eatin!!
Moved to Florida for several years , focused more on offshore fishing than hunting. Now back to ky I’m able to do more hunting.

Thanks again africahunting!!

Welcome to AH! Good first name by the way.

Thanks Phil, read several of your responses during the time on africahunting . All useful.. thanks

A belated welcome to the addiction Clayton! Looking forward to your second trip and reading the report from it. So what are your plans?

Plans for are next year are similar to the first trip. My father and I are flying into Port Elizabeth and meeting up with victor from karoo wild safari. My goal is to be able to connect with a decent kudu and a few other plains game. I believe my father wants to hunt cull animals again. We are gonna be hunting 2x1. Hunting next to dad in Africa is better than any trophy. We both agreed to go to the same location/ host as we felt like family and not just a client.
Definitely will give a report!! Thanks ridgewalker

Awesome to get to hunt with your dad! That will be something special to remember the rest of your life!
Looking forward to your and your dad’s report on what will be a grand time I’m sure!

Thankfully I have noticed several post recently regarding shipping and customs info on trophy’s. Planning on having them sent back this time. The unknowns had me hesitant last trip. Unknowns as in cost , importer, shipping , government paperwork, hidden fees, etc

Welcome sir! Glad you made the introduction

Hi Clayton

An official welcome to AH, although you now have quite a bit of African experience. Loved our hunt with your family last year, it was terrific meeting you all and showing you our part of the Karoo. We're super excited to some more hunting adventures with you next September. We're gonna get you a big kudu or have fun trying!!

Welcome to the posting side Clayton. Just as existing AH members' posts helped you, your post will help others. I'm the Dad in our family group, and totally agree that hunting with family is one of life's better moments. It makes no difference what is being hunted, it is the doing it together that matters. 2018 marked our 40th year of going to the field together and I'm looking foreword to as many more as I can muster.

Welcome aboard Clayton, glad you decided to jump on in!

Welcome Clayton :S Welcome:

Victor , looking forward to the adventures in September. Thanks for putting up with my clan last year and allowing us to come back next year. Lol definitely a mature kudu would be nice!
