Hello friends, i want to share with you a hunt in Curuzu Cuatia, Corrientes province, last march. the idea was to hunt 3 days.
Friday morning my guide an I wake up very early. Sadly we could listen some roaring but we did not get close to any. In this area the bushes are very dense so you need to approach as much as possible.
We return to the camp at noon for lunch and take a "siesta".
In the afternoon we decided to stay in one place to see if we could get one feeding on pastures. We can see only some females and young males.
Back in the camp for dinner and a good wine.
Saturday early morning we are heading towards a new place, suddenly the guide gives me a hand signal.
We saw the tips of his antlers, the deer was eating in tall grasses so it was very difficult to see clearly. I could only see the edge of the spine (maybe 10-15 cms.). It was a good trophy so I decided to take the shot, the females that were around ran out, I could not see what had happened with the male, the guide told me it seems he fell in the place. We approached and saw it. From here I could measure the distance with the telemeter (137 mts).
We congratulate ourselves and start to work the meat.
Equipment: - Bergara B14 rifle .300wm
- Swarosvski PH scope 2.5-10x42 reticle 4
- Own reload, Sierra Prohunter 180 gn, 76 gn IMR 4831 (2900fps)
- Vanguard Endeavor 8x42 binos
I leave you some photos.
I apologize for my english.
