Been hard finding any 257 weatherby ammo in stock. This round just came back in stock and kind of middle of the road bullet weight wise.I think the 110 grain would be fine on the springbucks , bushbuck and nyala we will use this gun for but know nothing about this bullet.Anyone use it for 257 or any other gun that shoots a faster bullet. Thanks

I have used it twice on mule deer and it worked great one recovered and one complete pass thru. Although I think the 257 is pushing it a bit fast. Pic of the 257 and 308 accubond both recovered from deer. it lost to much weight for me. I recovered in just under the skin on the opposite shoulder

That's one issue with the .257. It really needs a tough bullet. Uintas pic is a prime example of a bullet performing perfectly as designed but not being designed for that type of speed.

I haven't tried them myself, fortunately despite not being real easy to come by lately, I have still been able to get enough Barnes and components to keep me going.

You are dead on. I like the accubond a up to about 2900 fps after that they just don't hold together enough I shoot the 200 gr in a 300 ultra but try to keep them under 3000. For the 257 I like the Barnes.

Thats what I was kind of thinking from what I have heard. The speed makes them only a ok round at maybe longer range.I am thinking the springbucks could be 200 to 300 yards but the nyala and bushbuck maybe only 150 to 100 yds.The 120 nosler pat. have come back in stock also.I was looking at the 100 grain tsx also but they are still on back order and I normally dont like light bullets.I have been told even at only 100 grains that bullet is top notch and would do the trick.

All I shoot in mine are 100grers. Really the difference between 100 and 110gr is very insignificant anyway.

Those Partitions should work well though, I would not hesitate to shoot them.

For the animals you list, any of your selections will work.
