I am just completing a 14 day leopard hunt at Tokoloshe in their tent camp. The great legendary Lou Hallamore author of Chui was my PH. To say I had a fantastic time is an understatement. The following are my thoughts:
1. Tokoloshe is alive and well poised for incredible growth with great value hunts.
2. Liesl Denny has an outstanding vision for growth and is putting her strategies to work building upon Lon Dennys initial work!!!
3. Liesl has put together an incredible team of Sarah and her husband Russ who manage the camp and are incredible hosts and PHs like Lou Hallamore with over 50 years of experience
4. The food and service are first class all the way!!!

On my hunt we made 7 perfect baits that had two males and a female in the area but we just could not close the deal…I will be back!!!!

Wow….this was not what I was expecting to hear from that legendary leopard PH. Of course it’s hunting…but I was hopeful for a different outcome. Sounds like you are NOT giving up! Also sounds like you had a great trip, which is much more the point. Curious to hear more. Maybe a phone call to catch up? Were these ranch cats in Zim? They are tough customers and very wary (more than normal).

Look forward to the full report! That's how cat hunting goes, glad you are going to go back!

Glad to hear that Liesel and Tokoloshe are doing well!
Too bad you didn’t connect but it happens and there is always next time. That’s why it’s called hunting….
Would love to hear the details and see some pics :D Beers:

Sorry you didn´t connect.

Next time :A Victory:

Looking forward to a scotch with you tomorrow night

I'm glad you had a good hunt even if you weren't able to connect. It says a lot about how great an outfitter is for a client to leave happy and want to return when there wasn't success.

I am gathering from this that Lon passed away, is that correct? Was there a post/thread on here about this? I'm sorry to hear that.

Sorry, you did not get your cat. How were the Buffalo there?

Question borne out of ignorance.

What is it ranch cat?

Good question…ranch cat signifies that it is killing cattle and livestock on someone’s ranch. No fence can hold a leopard so it’s not about that but where the cat is getting meat from. Ranch cats have been chased and harassed a lot as they have a direct impact on ranch revenue. Some of the ranch cats in Zim are notoriously difficult. I’ve come up short with them for sure!

Thank you that’s exactly what I was thinking.
Crafty little critters!

Sorry to hear you weren’t able to get a cat. Were you able to hunt anything else while you were there?
i did not sole focus on leopard. If I did it over would go in August early September when there is no water but Tokoloshe pans. That would draw more PG thus more leopards. saw a few buff tracks

It's good to hear some mention of timing on leopards. I went too late on mine...late October and early November and the warthogs were dropping their young. It was a cancellation hunt and I didn't have options but I believe it had a negative impact on the outcome.

Welcome back @Rare Breed, sorry you couldn't close the deal with Chui. Looking forward to reading your detailed report and pictures.

Sorry to hear this. Glad it was a nice trip.

Had an excellent classifieds transaction with JoninCO. A truly honest and standup member. I wouldn't hesitate at all to deal with him again. Thanks, J!

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
