Sort of gave up on this search years ago, have only seen one such, and this is the one. Guy on another forum had it a couple years ago, then put it up on GB, I didnt see it and it sold.
Then recently it popped back on GB again, so I snagged it. Came with a Mannlicher brand low power scope which doesnt do it for me so I slapped on a 3.5-10 Leupy I had laying about.
Mounts are said to be Talley but are identical to a set of Kimber mounts I have. Not that keen on them but for now they will work till I see how I like the rifle. I really have no use for it or the caliber, though a fine one. Have taken this cal to Africa twice in the past in CZ 550 form.

And obviously a Steyr Model M Professional, 24" bbl. Sadly no sights, never had them. Bore looks great, came with two mags, softer replacement pad. Funny thing is one of the mags is one I owned previously and sold to the guy who had it before he sold it. So I got my mag back! I bought it years ago when the search for this rifle was hot.

I kept a bunch of bullets, brass and dies from my last go-round with this cal so well set there. Hopefully try it out next Monday.

These are nice rifles. I am glad you have lots of experience with the caliber and have all that reloading paraphernalia, but I refuse to guess what it might be.

Well, you did have 9.3x62 in the thread title? "Another Grail Gun Found! 9.3x62". Are you trying to fool us? Ha! Ha!
No he didn't. He just added it. ;) And as a 9.3x62, I like it even better.

Sorry, I guess I wasn't quick enough when he first posted it. That cartridge IS alluring to me. I had a chance to buy a custom awhile back, but was talked out of it. WON'T happen again!

I never had any experience with the 9.3 anything in the past. After using 9.3x74R in Africa last August I am a fan.

Red Leg is right, I put it there after I got called out. :ROFLMAO:

I have lots of dreams, and elk hunting aint one of them.
Tend to agree. My Alpine hunt for a chamois is likely my last true mountain hunt (Spanish ibex and the Gredos don't count). A man has got to know his limitations.

Head to New Mexico, low elevations and lots of elk.

If you can hunt deer, in Texas you can hunt elk. In fact a nice fat cow elk is on my list for after the holidays. Down here, they and red deer are exotics and it is always open season!
+ Nilgai, water buff, Watusi, and on and on. Even Warthogs , being exotics, are fair game year round.
Our own wild hogs are also.

crs:
Are you going to use one of your DR on that fat cow elk or maybe a lever action? Inquiring (bored) minds want to know?
CEH

Not settled yet.
By then my new 45-70 and 45-90 Express loads should be tried and proven and they will work in 45-70, 45-90 (higher velocity) lever guns and in Beretta DR.

Naturally my .308 will also do, as well as my .405 DR and 1895 .405, then,,, but Decisions, decisions???

PS Thanks for asking. Practicing a "nicer me" for the Holidays.

Is that an elk on there? Surely your not going to try and hunt elk with it? You'll need a .35 Whelen for that! Just ask Townsend @Bob Nelson 35Whelen. Great looking rifle though!
@CoElkHunter
You are a silly Vegemite a European 35 read 9.3x62 will do the same job as the American Whelen on critterz
