Home after an overnighter to test the caravan. I think it will probably be into the cooler end of summer and into the autumn that will see us spend more time away. Anyway here is a short video I put together and unfortunately Some of it was done on the ph with its dusty lense but at least it shows some of what we had to enjoy.

It's good to get out.
Even if it's for a short run.

Cheers.

I like the Africa Hunting hat strategically placed.
What do they call that ? Product placement. I hope you get a kickback for promoting the site.
Amazing scenery.

Garry, your van or what we in the US would call a camping trailer is quite nice. Is this an upgrade from your homemade pod that you built a few years ago? Quite nice and comfortable looking!

Nice caravan with an excellent layout!
A beautiful place to park it! Are there trout in the river? It made me want to return to NZ and do some fishing.
Enjoy your summer and thanks for sharing!

Yes the pod was certainly effective for the one trip but with the one trip emphasised.

Yes there is very good fishing in the Clutha river but like all high volume rivers there are places that are better than others for catching fish. Fly fish the rapids areas (above or below) or threadline the wider deeper places and calmer backwash areas.

Nice looking area. The trailer looks to be the perfect size for you and the Mrs. Great to get away.

@Von Gruff
Mate it's great to be able to get away for a few days. A couple of weeks ago a mate and his son and myself and my son managed to get in a hunt. It was great.
Unfortunately after Australia being China flu free for 50 days we have had a minor out break in NSW that has stuffed the show up again. We only have 40 odd cases in the state but everyone has gone into panic mode and borders are shut again. Hopefully we can control it quickly.
Take every opportunity you can Gary to get away it could happen over there to.
We have a strain from the USA that they are saying came in with a flight crew. But that's what you get from opening up to early but hey that's life and part of the brave new world.
Enjoy your travels mate.

Chris each place I have visited has its own type of beauty even broken hill. They view over mundi mundi plains leaves nothing to be desired out there and the art work in Mario's pub and the story behind it is fascinating. You just have to look there is beauty every where If'n you just open your eyes and mind.

Jeez something must be wrong I'm getting philosophical. Next you know I'll be praising the 243. Nah I don't think I would go that far

Bob, I w worked for Mario a long time ago. A story for another time.
Anyone who has seen Priscilla Queen of the desert may remember the little it a italian man who came out and said "Hello Ladies"
Came out???, No not in that sense.
They now run The Broken Heel Festival that attracts many Lbwtgtg and others each year.
Mmm, and Bob is familiar with Marios,

Nice camping rig! Catch some fish!
No I didn't Mark and to be honest I have never been much of a fisherman. My father was a very dedicated rodsman but I didn't have the success he did and always prefered a rifle to a rod.

Yes mate I know Mario's the art work is beautiful. Even went to Jack Absalom place and bought some art work while he was still alive.
My son even sat on the big chair and sow the m owners memorial.

Bob, next time you are out for the Priscilla festival I can point you toward some other known artists that are still going.

Had an excellent classifieds transaction with JoninCO. A truly honest and standup member. I wouldn't hesitate at all to deal with him again. Thanks, J!

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
