I’m looking at the Alaska Arms QD rings from Brownells for my Ruger 416 Rigby.
Any have experience with these?
Any have experience with these?
I've shot over 100 full power (2400fps+) factory 416 Rigby loads (Swift, Federal, Win & Hornady) so far with these mounts off the bench & off the sticks with no issues what so ever. Rock Solid. Labor day weekend I plan a 4 day live fire marathon 20 rounds each day to build real muscle memory for next years Cape Buffalo hunt.Have you had any issue with them loosening while on the rifle? So they lock down solid?
They are extremely well made and will not loosen once installed. They are a little more complicated than Talley's (which is why I prefer Talley), but I have the Alaska's on a .375 and .338 and they work exactly as advertised.Have you had any issue with them loosening while on the rifle? I have at least a dozen rifles equipped with QD Talley Rings and all have worked perfectly regardless of model. They are on everything from .223 through .404. I prefer them to Warne. They are a little more expensive, but the machining and finish are much better.Did you purchase the 1 screw or regular Talley QD rings?

Call them. Super helpful folks. Have fit a number of odd actions over the years.Excellent. I’ve never purchased any QD rings as I’ve never had the need until now. Always have had leupold rings on my hunting rifles.
I have zero issue paying a little more if they are a superior product.
Can’t tell from the website of it will fit my RSM
Thank you!You can change the screw out to lever on the Talley and have Q/D rings. 'Have a heavy-recoiling .416 that did once loosen after repeated testing of handloads, dialing in, airport handling, etc. (and it still shot w/in 1" when loose,) but I simply tighten it now immediately prior to testing the gun in camp. The Talleys are solid units (10 screws in a set of rings alone!!), but so are the Alaskan's (similar) and even the Warne that we have on plains game-type calibers. Leupold also has Q/D...'have a pair on a .338 that I can flip between longer/shorter range scopes (def. the fastest scope removal, but i worry about them on a big gun as the levers are almost too easy to operate. they are more cam-lock on pull out post vs. threaded clamp on the others.)
@ Fred Gunner, did you make or purchase that cartridge holder for your No. 1?
My apologies to the OP, not trying to derail this informative post.

Point of order, Gentlemen.
Alaska rings makes rings for the Ruger #1. (maybe other ruger firearms too?)
Talley does not make ruger QD rings as far as I know. (Putting them on a ruger means custom machining of bases...at least for #1s this is the case)
Warne makes rings for the #1 and for other rugers.
Lastly, Ruger themselves make okay-quality investment cast Offset rings for Rugers that are not QD but do help with eye relief issues on some installs.
If you agree those are the facts, I don't see a scenario that creates choices of either Alaska rings or Talley rings. They are both good, but I've not encountered a scenario where there was a choice between them.
I agree. Alaska QD rings are available for the M77 but Talley does not have them per my review. Warne is available for m77 but i do not like the appearance hem compared to the Alaska.
I am looking for exclusively for QD rings.
I also need a set for my MRC 404
