Ya know I’ve been a member here for a few years now and I’m repeatedly reminded how many great folks are here. Not only do we root each other on when we’re hunting but also when personal tragedies occur or personal loss hits our lives members are right there offering support and advice. When I asked for prayers several years ago for my wife the response was incredible both publicly and privately. It shows just what kind of people are here. There was a post recently about hunting shirts from KMG safaris and I joked I didn’t get one while hunting there. Fellow member @tay50 saw that and mailed me a shirt he received while there. A very nice gesture indeed. I just wanted to share that with my fellow members. I’m honored to be a hunter and a member of this fantastic forum.

Thanks fro sharing John! I agree, great folks around here!!

After all, we hunters are not so bad :D Cheers:

The Brotherhood of Hunters. Kinda like the Brotherhood of War. We are all warriors of a sort and tend to stick together helping each other as we can.

@tay50 your a class act sir!

Johnny thank you for the kind words, I'm proud to be a member on this forum.

I am often amazed at myself for some of the personal details I share. But the members here make it feel so incredibly welcoming that it feels like a that hunt camp where you can just sit around and talk. A respite from the every day. Nice of you to point this out.

Great site for exceptional people! And John you and your tough little lady are great support! Thanks for your communication and encouragement!

That is a really nice gesture Kurt!

AH is a great community. I am proud to be part of it!

I agree, but would add, what goes around, comes around. JB has long been one of those guys when I see he has commented, I immediately open the thread. Most times it is a warm inviting welcome, a nugget of wisdom, or some positive spin or witty comment on an otherwise sticky issue. It is a pleasure to commune with you through AH.

I’m humbled sir.

I think the same as you Johnny.

Spot on sir, I haven’t seen too many other forums where there is this level of camaraderie and support for one another through thick and thin. I’ve never seen someone scolded or talked down to for asking a question that may be a novice one, or one that’s been answered dozens of times before. It’s a privilege to be in the (online) company of such great folks. I can’t wait to share a campfire with you guys.

Chopped up the whole thing as I kept hitting the 240 character limit...
Found out the trigger word in the end... It was muzzle or velocity. dropped them and it posted.:)

2,822fps, ES 8.2
This compares favorably to 7 Rem Mag. with less powder & recoil.

*PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS FOR MY RIFLE, ALWAYS APPROACH A NEW LOAD CAUTIOUSLY!!*
Rifle is a Pierce long action, 32" 1:8.5 twist Swan{Au} barrel
{You will want a 1:8.5 to run the heavies but can get away with a 1:9}
Peterson .280AI brass, CCI 200 primers, 56.5gr of 4831SC, 184gr Berger Hybrid.

I know that this thread is more than a year old but as a new member I thought I would pass along my .280AI loading.
I am shooting F Open long range rather than hunting but here is what is working for me and I have managed a 198.14 at 800 meters.
That is for 20 shots. The 14 are X's which is a 5" circle.
