If you have chance check out the Jan/Feb 2018 issue of Sporting Classics Magazine, I have an article in there about an African lion hunt I was able to go on right before the US import ban came into effect. It was with Sans Souci Safaris (booked by Theo Blignaut) and was a great experience and an exciting hunt. Because of the knee jerk USFWS ruling and what it did to lion hunt prices, I was able to get it for less than a plains game hunt and he was exportable. It is Sporting Classic's show issue so you may find copy at SCI or DSC. I have always been a fan of the magazine's content and photography. I recently had a Cape buffalo article in Sports Afield this year and an elephant hunt article in DSC Game Trails. I hope to have more out soon. Hope you enjoy the story.

Good stuff! Are you close to getting him home from the taxidermist?

Thank you! It is drying now and I am having him do something with one of the arms too. Should be soon. Jusy dry and do finishing work with airbrush. I am excited for sure. The experience would have been worth it had I not gotten the trophy back, but I am stoked to have gotten the cat back.

not familiar with sporting classic mag,do you have an address?

Many sporting good stores with hunting magazine racks have them. Cabelas, Bass Pro, etc.

Classy magazine. Nice mix of new and classic, old school safari stories.

It’s a great looking mount!

Thanks CAustin. He does a really nice job.

Here's a photo of Tony receiving that Shaw & Hunter award at the 1970 annual EAPHA Dinner Dance. Tony Dyer, then EAPHA President and Princess (Sunny) von Auersperg presented it. I also attended the event.
