3rd Annual AH Dinner at the DSC Convention
If you were wondering if we'll be having this event again, yes we will! Last year we had about 50 folks from AH or at least associated with AH members for our dinner. A great time I believe was had by all. I hope this year we can grow the event further.
For those of you who have been to our get together previously, you'll notice a couple of changes. Instead of having the event on Friday night, I've moved it to Saturday night. Some of our Texan members as well as those within driving distance of Dallas come in only for the weekend. Moving the dinner to Saturday night makes it easier for those folks to attend.
The second change is of course the restaurant. The first two dinners were at the Iron Cactus. There were some challenges with last year's dinner and frankly I left thinking the Iron Cactus did not seem to appreciate our few thousand dollars worth of business.
On another evening at DSC, Paul Truccolo and I attended a dinner at Texas Land & Cattle. Both of us felt like the restaurant did a good job of hosting the dinner. The banquet room they have there is bigger with more room to roam and get a chance to talk to others. We both agreed after the experience at the IC, that changing to the Texas L&C restaurant would be a good move.
Dinner will not be a buffet style, but will be your choice. You will have a choice between several steaks, a seafood or a chicken dinner. This will include salad, bread, a side and any non-alcoholic drinks. While it may take a little longer for dinner to be served, I can't imagine anyone walking away hungry.
