Thought it was time to share this piece that was originally published (and never paid for!) in African Outfitter magazine about "Cape to Cairo" Grogan.

It’s hilarious. In that entire trip, he never succeeded in killing even 1 game animal with the 4 Bore.

It seems it was an Paradox gun. Back then, that was also no longer optimal for hunting Big Game.

No, No. I remember clearly. The party had both a 4 bore rifle and a 10 bore Paradox gun; both of which were made by Holland & Holland. The 4 bore couldn't successfully bag any game. The 10 bore could, but it (and the 4 bore) were still eventually abandoned in favor for the .500 Black Powder Express & the .303 rifles.
