Finally got a little time to finish up the 450/400 Ruger #1. The top rifle is a 7x57 with Turkish walnut. The middle is 9.3x74R with English walnut. and lower is the 450/400 with English walnut. The English walnut came from the same tree. I was looking at a Lexus model 11 at DSC a couple years ago that I really like but when I did the math figured I could but the 3 #1's and finish nice stock sets from treebone carving for a little less than the Model 11.

Wow the wood grain on the stocks are amazing.
I have a Ruger 1 but it doesn't look like those!

Very nice looking battery there @AZDAVE

Beautiful rifles Dave. Will yo share with me who made the stocks for you?

As usual with your rifles, I'm a bit jealous! Did you stock these yourself?

Lovely trio in a 3 nicely spaced cartridges. The pair of stocks from the same tree are simply georgous.

@CAustin I ordered the stocks sets from George at treebone carving. http://www.treebonecarving.com/ruger-1-and-3-stocks.html They come 85-90% done then you need to do the final fitting and finishing yourself or have your stockmaker/gunsmith finish them for you. I have worked with his products on 6 #1's a hepburn and couple rolling blocks. He also duplicated one bolt gun stock for me that I am currently final fitting to 9.3x62 that I am building for my self.

@Bhfs300 I really like #1's but most all have very plain wood so I decided to tart mine up a bit because kritters just feel better getting shot with a pretty rifle;) And they come with a 13 3/4 LOP and I have a 15 1/8 lop and they look funy with spacers and huge recoil pads on factory stocks.

Very nice looking guns, congrats !

The critters ought to be lining up to get poked by those beauties!

Thanks for the info Dave

Very nice Dave!

Hey Dave

Is that a Trop safety on the 450-400, or some other?

If it is aftermarket, does the brass clear ok?

@tarbe yes it is a trop safety and the brass clears perfectly, no getting stuck on the front edge of the factory safety.

Very nice looking rifles!

Everyone always thinks about the worst thing that can happen, maybe ask yourself what's the best outcome that could happen?

Do you have any cull hunts available? 7 days, daily rate plus per animal price?
