Gentlemen:
Sorry for not responding sooner, Deer season started the first. Thank you for all the input. I am going to try some of the suggestions you have offered. I mark my scope with a sharpened pencil. I to dislike vertical rings but it was all I had on hand at the time, an old set of Warnes. I also think that I have been lax in my degreasing of the components.

I always mark mine with a pencil as well. An easy way to make sure it’s where it belongs.

This. Ross Seyfried fried wrote about it in Guns & Ammo in the late 80’s (I still have that copy around here somewhere) and it works like a hot damn. You WILL NOT have a scope slip if you use this product. I’m on my second can of it over the years.
