The original owner built the stock himself. He even did the checkering. He’s a very talented individual. But I can’t convince him to checker anything for me.

Go on, @sierraone, i can't think of anyone who deserves this masterpiece more than your good self. Maybe mount a quality 1-6 scope on it, and go hunt anything that takes your fancy.

I have a weed burner made by Don's (Garlits) Machine Shop in Tampa FL in the mid 60s! lol I've never heard of AAAA. Can you provide some wisdom on this?? You're lucky, as i was in the process of ordering a highly custom .470 Capstick from them, when the bottom fell out (and I luckily didn't send them a cent.)

It’s a reference to the quality of the wood. Standard, A, AA, AAA, etc. AAAAAA is the best of the best.

Very nice looking rifle...was this gun made in Idaho by Evolution USA? I believe their proprietary actions were made by “Montana”. I also have a custom .375 H&H made in Idaho - by Evolution USA and have been pleased with it.

The original owner built the stock himself, not sure about the barreled action. He did live in Idaho once upon a time.
