A vote for Timney...good experience.

My friend who is a gun guru likes Timney but has found that they require constant cleaning to work properly in field conditions. He takes Q tips and lighter fluid to clean them regularly. I have also heard this from a few others. Scary in a DG scenario.
Thoughts?

Little did you know, but I only have one eye
I worked on a cz416 rigby that had a set trigger, who knows why you would want a set trigger on a rifle like that……anyway, I adjusted it till the set wouldn’t work as the standard pull was quite reasonable after a bit of work
Gumpy
My PH's 375 CZ had single set trigger. I think the set trigger is used primarily for zeroing at the range. Probably useful for that.

I really put my guns through hard hunting. Never had a problem with my Timney triggers and I have never cleaned them.

To keep the Timney trigger more reliable use, you have to lube it. I have been using mine for many years with no issue with it

Just moving to DM. Yes, please ask your friend if he knows somebody who might be willing to support a persistent hunt in the snow.

Hi Paul,
This is Daniel from Mankazana Safaris.

I saw your post regarding a hunt in Africa. I am sure you have been bombarded with messages and replies from other outfitters, so I will keep this one quick.
I have a feeling we have exactly what you need for a first safari.
If you'd like to hear more, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Yours sincerely,

If you ever decide to sell this rifle, I will buy it with the dies, bullet, brass, the works. Dan
