I was supposed to attend a wedding in Islamorada this last weekend. BUTTT everybody canceled and flaked out. So I called up my favorite guide in Key West, ask him if the weekend was open, and got lucky that the client who booked this weekend became ill and cancelled! His loss is my gain.

People who know me well can attest to my affinity for sharks. I love fishing for them, swimming with them, photographing them, tagging them, and helping out shark conservation efforts at every opportunity. Friends and captains think I'm crazy because I enjoy fishing fishing for sharks more than I do fishing for marlin! I just have tremendous respect for the diversity, power, and importance of these apex predators.

I have seen them in Europe, Australia, Africa, Central America, and everywhere on both coasts of the US (including Hawaii). Out of all of those places, Florida is the best for shark variety, quantity, and close proximity to shore. This trip was no different, as I released many sharks of 4 different species in 2 days.

A short video I put together:

Enjoy!

Not a bad "Plan B" !! Congrats and thanks for sharing

I lived in Marathon for a few years and fished the Flats, hooked a few Barracuda's but never a Shark

Looks like fun.

I have been using a "Personal Property" rider on my State Farm homeowner's policy to cover guns when I travel with them.
I have several firearms, but only one is worth over $20K (A Heym double rifle).
Very interested.
Would firearms be covered for damage, as well as, complete loss?
I'll can let the State Farm rider cover my watches...

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
