OK a small and I doubt significantly important piece but something (I thought) interesting arrived for me in the post today.

It's not new, modern or high tech but it is in lovely condition, has a remarkably clear image, keeps things in focus ridiculously close and is a reminder of some not so long ago European history that has recently been thrown into light

Best wishes,

Lovely scope this is

Those are lovely little scopes. Plus, you have to love things that say "West Germany" on them.

I'm looking to buy some West Germany Zeiss binoculars in the future.

What's it going on?
Initially probably an older Brno Model 2 in .22 lr I have.

My father has some W German 7x42 BGATs which are lovely binos.

@CJW and @Scrumbag
Don't let Putin see that he might want to dived things again.
Ha ha ha ha

I love that it is stamped “west Germany”-I would be tempted to put that behind glass and just display it! I have my dads original red field wide field from when he was a boy. One of these days I will send it to vintage scopes and give it a rebirth, but it is nothing close to your treasure.

Oh I don't know, those Redfields were quite the thing in their day.

Hi Scrumbag,

Congratulations!! One of the best 4x32 riflescopes ever made!!!
I have his "brother", a Zeiss Diatal ZA T 4x32. Yours was made with 1" tube diameter for the USA market. Mine with 26 mm for Europe.
These Zeiss series were, in my point of view, one of the best, if not THE best made scopes of the brand.
By the way, the 4x riflescope is still my favorite. I have, in use, "some" of them I will show...

Best Regards!

CF
