Hello All, if anyone is coming over to South Africa in the next month or so please could you bring an extractor pin for a Marlin 336? It is a tiny little thing. Once someone responds positively I will buy it online a d get it sent to you. Once you arrive we can meet up.
Many thanks,
Kevin

TTHA and DSC and SCI are all next month... which means a lot of South Africans will be in the US for anywhere from 1 week to a couple of months...

getting one of the AH outfitters or PHs that will be in the US in January to bring it home with them might be easier than finding an American that will be in South Africa in January.

It is called an ejector pin.

Thanks MDWest, good idea.

I have made proper size pressed in pins from shafts of drill bits. Break/cut off what's not needed and pound one end slightly out of shape so pin stays stuck when pressed in.

Great tip for you from a guy who's too cheap to pay for new factory parts. :D I'm not going to let you forget that, Kevin.

Kevin, do you have an image of the part you need? If not, what number part is it on this schematic?

Marlin 336s have a special place in my heart. I started hunting with one chambered in 35Rem nearly forty years ago. I don’t hunt with it near as much as I should but it took a lot of “firsts” for me when I was a young man.

Thanks for the tip OH, and so you shouldn't, I regret that post. I hope we will meet up one day and share a beer over it!

Nothing to regret. We were both speaking tongue in cheek ... I think? :D

Just one beer for the evening is all I can handle in my old age so don't be upset when I cut it off short. Yes, I hope we can arrange to meet sometime.

Jerome, do you think my last post in rough camping must maybe shift as an article?

Good afternoon,

I'm trying to get in contact with Mr Butch Searcy. I have the opportunity to buy one of his rifles chambered in 577 nitro Express however the seller does not have any of the paperwork with the information about what ammunition or bullet weight was used to regulate it. I know he is not making firearms anymore but I wanted to reach out after seeing one of your post about him.

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes
Daryl
