8x68s velocity

Moose is a real test for 8x68. In Sweden they hunt it with Swift a-frame, and mostly with Oryx 196gr. In Siberia Nosler A.Bond 200gr worked great on bear and moose.

Sry - might have been 185 Rem. , not 195's. Isn't there an 8mm 195gr. bullet?
Ahh - that's a Hornady Interlockt. Not sure about that one.

Very well, I do have quite a stock of 215 also.
Let's see how it works in my 8.

Not to derail the thread.
Got home from our holiday 11 December. The week we spent in the Lombardi and Pedimont regions was absolutely brilliant. Magnificent scenery and great people as well as great food. The Italian Alps are gorgeous. Gattinarra and Arborio have some wonderful old buildings. Milan is expensive.
Enjoyed my first time in Italy.

Some of you have mentioned the Mauser 66 chambered in 8x68S. That combo holds a special place in my heart as it is what I used to shoot my first boar. I was hunting with a very good friend near Karađorđevo, Serbia.

As is the case with many hunts, a significant part of the memory is of the people you hunt with. I had some good hunts with this fellow.

Karadjordjevo to be a great hunting ground. You can still find beautiful trophies there. I shot several animals in that hunting ground.

Hi PaulB. Would you be interested in another WJ Jeffery .450/.400 NE 3". It's an extractor model and in superb condition, cased as well. Made in 1908. The rifle is here in Texas.
