Anyone care to share some top load info or point to some on the net anywhere? Very little have I found and am on my own really though there is some info on the 8mm/06 which is just slightly smaller in case size, but even at that most loads are tamped down to 8x57 ballistics or even less in some sources.

So far I have had the best shooting with Sierra Game King boat tails for accuracy but have not run anything over a chrono yet. Sierra 175 Pro Hunter flat base also shoot well.

Surely there must be some 8x64 shooters here that can point to some good modern loading info?

TIA, Thanks in Advance or This is Africa.

hi ses,
looks like you might have to do it the steam driven way - work up till you get stiff extraction and back off a bit for max load, and then chronograph it.
maybe someone here has a programme (like bob nelson) that might help.
good luck with it.
bruce.

RWS or Brenneke data you can look on up also, since Sellier Bellot and Brenneke loads for it ,
I looked for that once before but didnt see anything.

Click on the options for the various bullets mentioned here. Brenneke also have factory ammo for it .

It was very close that 8x64S would be the new sniper cartridge of Czechoslovakia in the Zg47 sniper rifleof totally new and fascinating design ,but it was turned down due to Warsawpact, and then they got the Vz54 Mosin action instead.

Thanks for the link, now if I could just figure out how to translate to English. The main page is English but all the info is German. Although I can interpolate the info from meters to foot seconds I guess.

There is the data in Grains in there, next to gramm in the weight of it,but it should have been a fps section there also.

Grains I see, but no FPS, only meters.

Found a bit more info on the Nobel site. Powders I dont have, but I can compare to others available. I have been loading for it right along using what I have and just being cautious, but its alway nice to have published data to go by.

I dont have the Blue Bible st hand ( Rws Wiederladen book) ,but that one have many data the web page dont have now, wish you the best ,ill check and see if i find more data elsewhere,

@sestoppelman No luck with 8x64 data. Plenty of 8mm-06 data from Nick Harvey, Barry Wilmot, ADI etc. Let me know if you want any of that for reference purposes.

Thanks guys, I have Harveys book and assorted other articles etc on the 8-06 and 8x60. Thanks for looking.
The dearth of info is a bit surprising really.

Reloading data for the 8x65RS published by DEVA.......DEVA says, same case volume and same pressure limits, so the date can be used in 8x64S as well.

As always, start low, workup carefully,....and at your own risk.

@sestoppelman
If you like I can have a look on load from a disc for you and PM you the results.
All I need is the bullet weight/ brand and the type of powder you want to use. If it is on there I will give you suggested min and max loads, and you can go from there. Barrel length will help to other wise I will just work on a 24"
Bob

Bob, you being an expert on CFE223 powder maybe look up some loads for that with say 200gr or so bullets. I have some of that powder and could use some guidance if possible with this round. 24" bbl. Thanks!

Any other powder and what brand of projectiles. As you know different projectiles different powder charges.
I w will try and get back to you in a few hours.

How about 220 gr Sierra Game King? Or perhaps a 180 gr, any brand will do. Maybe check H4831 powder too.

Thanks!

Just wanted to say thanks for the excellent customer service. Ordered some 9.3x62 brass and the delivery was a little short. An email through your website Contact Us link was replied to the next day with the tracking info for the correction. Good pricing coupled with great customer service will see returning customers every time. Thanks again!
