For those who live in the US or have hunted in africa with a 6.5 creedmoore, what is your go to ammo. Extra points if you have pictures of its performance on game

Ive had good results with Norma 140gr on black bear (Canada) . Dropped this spring bear in its tracks (155 yds downhill).

I took 25 animals in SA several years ago using my 6.5 creedmoor, I used 120 grain Barnes TTSX. For the most part I shot many springbucks, I also took lechwe, fallow deer and gemsbuck.

At this point there are several great ammo options for the creedmoor.

Hornady Precision Hunter 143gr ELD-X .

It shoots great groups out of both of my Creedmoor's and the ELD-X bullets have been reliable performers.

I second the 143 ELD X. I have a write up this year with my most recent hunt. Kudu, one shot, bush buck one shot, and four tiny ten and a 400 yard shot on a Vaal rheebok.

Never had one in Africa, in NA I run Sellier & bellot 120gr ( ttsx)
Remington 129gr tipped core-lok on deer , hogs, aoudad ,
It will do anything thing a .243 can do but only better !! Knowing it’s limitations is a huge plus. I am definitely not a Hornady ELDX fan boy ( they are pretty soft and have limited shot placement for larger game )

I reloading great results using hornady 140 grain sst coues whitetail at 266 yards hits hard 1 shot

Again, S&B does not load a TTSX.

They do offer a copper projectile. But it is not a TTSX bullet. I know you and I have talked about that but just for the sake of clarity for other readers.

For OP, The 127gr barnes LRX would be a good factory loaded option for sure. If your rifle likes it of course

You are correct they are TXRG not ttsx , technically

Sellier & Bellot TXRG
  • Manufacturer: Sellier & Bellot.
  • Design: The TXRG (eXergy Blue) is also a modern, lead-free, solid copper hunting bullet with a blue polymer tip and a boat-tail base.
  • Performance: The design is intended to offer reliable expansion and deep penetration, similar to other all-copper designs. The tip is also designed to enhance expansion at all ranges and provides a flat trajectory.
  • Weight Retention: Like the TTSX, its solid copper construction is designed for maximum weight retention.
And yes the 127 LRX is a excellent option for 6.5 size calibers

I like the tipped fusion bullets. I used tipped 6.5prc ( 2800mv) on my elk with great results. I used non tipped fusion from 308 on my plains game in 2023

Sir, I think I have been writing to you about the purchase of the HK 639 rifle under an email "Tt Jake." If this is you, then I am truly interested. I am just trying to verify identify. Tt Jake is asking for a cash transaction. No disrespect intended, Just trying to verify who I am talking to. Thank you. Respectfully. Dan

Hey my friend, I am returning to SA for a Cape Buffalo hunt in June 26. My outfitter has suggested Highveld but I have read some poor reports. Wondering how satisfied you were with your mounts from them? Thanks in advance.
Finally back to somewhat normal I missed reading the messages and posts
