Would there be anyone on here that has access to an original 500 jeffery that would be stamped with the original Cordite load charge. Thinking I may try and duplicate it with IMR3031 like I do in double rifles, and see what happens. It has worked for other calibers I have tried but I can't find anything that list that original cordite loading,....and there are very few original 500j floating around that would have the stamp.

Thanks-

The more I search that seems correct. However, I did find a thread on a ntitro express forum that a guy posted, that in the 1960 Gun Digest, the 500 jeffery was listed among a bunch of other calibers with their original cordite load, and he claims it says 95 gr Cordite. That would seem to make sense as when you do the cordite /smokeless conversion it would come out to 101 grains of IMR 3031. That is commensurate with the load charge for many other powders I've tried. Pretty similar burn rate to H4895 which I haven't tried either.

Woodleigh manual shows an original cordite loading
95 grains cordite
535 grain projectile
2400fps
18.5tpsi
28" barrel

The Woodleigh loading manual is a fantastic reference document . Always interested at how long the barrels were to achieve the reported performance . For example 26 inches for the 505 G and 416 Rigby and 28 inches for the 425WR .

Hello, My wife and I hunted with Marius 2 years ago. He fit us into his schedule after a different outfitter "bailed" on us. He was always very good with communications and although we didn't end up meeting him personally, he called us multiple times during our hunt to make sure things were going well. We were very happy with him.

Reach out to the guys at Epic Outdoors.

They will steer you right for landowner tags and outfitters that have them.

I have held a membership with them for years and they are an invaluable resource.

Way better that asking random people on the internet...WAY better

Skydiver386,

Did you ever find your 30-06 CZ550? I own a fairly solid conditioned one, if you wanted to talk.
