I am becoming aware of the vast amount of information there is about double rifle!

What is the thought on the 500/450 cartridge chambered for Holland and Holland rifles? I gather its a proprietary round? so there were a lot less manufacturers over the years.

Are there different sizes of this round?

Is this still a viable cartridge? Can you buy factory ammo? What about reloading supplies? Brass and Dies available? Can you make brass from a 500?

Please educate me on what I don't know!

It’s one of the nicest cartridges of the NE family . It was a variation by HH. Roosevelt used one on his famous safari .
It is made by Kynoch and some others also . but a reloaded cartridge leaves more choices . It uses 480 grain as standard , but 500 grain data around also .

RIA just sold a really nice one a week or so ago. It's a cool caliber,.,....I thought about bidding but I don't need another project. I did do a little leg work and dies would more than likely be available from that outfit in ohio, bertram still can order the brass,....it could be done.

Had an excellent classifieds transaction with JoninCO. A truly honest and standup member. I wouldn't hesitate at all to deal with him again. Thanks, J!

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
