I am trying to decide between two different versions of the 4Stable Sticks. They are the Bush Essential (bottom of the line) and the Mountain. The Bush Essential says it is 64" and is none adjustable whereas the Mountain says it can be anywhere from 50-68".

Does the adjustability feature matter that much? I am not the tallest person in the world. On the Bush Essential would you just adjust the height by spreading the legs further out to the side to lower them?

I'm not worried about the folded size so much as they will be going into my rifle case.

It looks like they’ve changed the design since I last used the mountain sticks (my pair stayed in Namibia in 2018). I google imaged them and you can see the adjustable holes on one photo. They previously just had removable sections. If you are 6 ft or under the bush sticks will be fine for you. It’s not like a tripod you set to your height and spread the legs to the same position each time. Spreading the sticks slightly out more or bringing them in is a good system for quad sticks because only two points contact on the ground. I like the simplicity. I’ve been using them since 2017. The bush sticks are my favorite because they are the most rigid for standing shots. They just don’t pack as easy as the mountain sticks.

For someone tall they do make like 8” extensions as well if needed

It looks like the Bush Essentials will do me just fine at 5'7".
They will be fine for you. The simplicity of them along with the stability is what I think I like best. Here are Bog Pod, 4 stable bush light sticks, and GunStix side by side. 4 stable in middle.

Thanks for going into more detail on them. I really do appreciate it.

I use the mountain version. The adjustability is useful depending on if more than one person will use it. If you have a kid or smaller person, it is easier to have the sticks shorter. Likewise for a tall person.
I also like that they fit into a smaller bag when taken apart, making it easier to travel on a plane.

Either one will work great for you. I’d suggest the mountain version for future versatility, especially if there are kids and you want to shoot BB guns in the yard!

@jpr9954 - I have a set of carbon fiber quad sticks made by 4-Lite that I've been thinking about selling. I sent you a PM with my info if you are interested.

Hi Jay,

Hope you're well.

I'm headed your way in January.

Attending SHOT Show has been a long time bucket list item for me.

Finally made it happen and I'm headed to Vegas.

I know you're some distance from Vegas - but would be keen to catch up if it works out.

Have a good one.

Mark
