Hey Guys,
A buddy of mine is wanting to sell this 460 Wby if anyone is interested. He is looking to get 1695.00 Out of it. He has it on consignment locally but thought there might be a masochist in the crowd needing one!
PM me and I will put you in contact with him.

Perfect for Kawshik Rahman!

A very good price for that rifle.

I thought it was very reasonable.

Very nice looking rifle at a very reasonable price! I’ve always wondered what the recoil would be like on a .460 with the muzzle brake on it?

That is worth the money just to make sure every one of your friends gets to shoot it a few times. Your buddies might forget a dinner or beers, but they won’t forget shooting that cannon!
The wood is quite nice. Any idea of when it was made?

I will ask if he knows. One thing about the MarkV I do like is the wood, they used to have a good supply of pretty lumber!

Elk Man,

Quit reading those recoil scales as the can be very misleading.

Of course the 460 kicks. But I know of no one who can't master it.
Well, I would like to shoot one ONCE, and then watch somebody else “master” it! Ha! Ha! Ha! I get to watch that video though!

Get ahold of Toby 458! I’ll bet he doesn’t have one? He can shoot it once and then put it on the classifieds here?

With the serial number I could look in my book and give you an apprx year. By the pistol grip checkering, I'd say it was made in the US. Beautiful rifle all the way around.

H732XX puts it in 70’s manufacture

It’s a Japan made one. That explains the beautiful wood stock.

Back in the day Weatherbys were known for their stunning stocks made from mesquite. I don't know how the wood was for strength, but those dark/light streaks were beautiful.

I am a huge Weatherby fan, and I own several Weatherby shotguns & rifles. The most beautiful rifles (non customs) are the ones made in Japan, the quality of the wood stocks and the bluing are just flat out beautiful.

Good luck on the sale, it is a beautiful rifle. Unfortunately my recoil tolerance stops with the 300 Weatherby. :ROFLMAO:

I prefer less shiny stocks and only two holes in the barrel, one at the chamber and one at the muzzle......

That would be a stunning piece of wood with a proper London oil finish.....

Got one just like it in left hand. It will rock your world when you touch one off! Not sure why or what I will do with it, but you know......want over need?.....Amerícan way!

A 500 grain slug moving at 2700 fps out of the 460 does does a whole lot of damage... certaily more than the 2150 of the 458.

And though I use my one 458 that I built for many things I am the first to say that I consider it minimal at best for dangerous game even though it is equally or more powerful than many other rounds used for dg.

I went to the 460 and noticed that the disruption of flesh was massive compared to the 458 and that was due to the speed.

I got hold of a A-Square 577 T-Rex and with it's 750 grain slug moving at high speed it definately hit animals extremely hard and stopped them in their tracks.

I built myself an exciting 600 Overkill in the early 2000's and with 1000 gr custom bullets itis atrue giant slayer. But it never made it to africa. I did take it to Russia and shot an enormous brown bear about 10 feet away from my guide who was squating against a tree taking a dump at the time. The shot to the chest actually knocked the bear backwards and made him deader than Julius Ceasar. The bear had blood on his paws and muzzle when he took the smack down. He had killed and was eating 2 cubs right before he was sizing up my russian friend.

Hello Doug,
I am Philippe from France and plan to go hunting Caprivi in 2026, Oct.
I have read on AH you had some time in Vic Falls after hunting. May I ask you with whom you have planned / organized the Chobe NP tour and the different visits. (with my GF we will have 4 days and 3 nights there)
Thank in advance, I will appreciate your response.
Merci
Philippe

Hi Walden. Good morning from England, Chris here (The Englishman!) from Croatia. Firstly it was a pleasure to meet you and Michelle - a fellow Sanderson! I have finally joined AH as I enjoy it very much. Glad you enjoyed the hunt and your write up which I read on AR was very good indeed. I am sending on WhatsApp pics from Bojan of some of the animals hunted recently. Take care and best regards. CS.
