458 winchester or lott ?

but with mono bullets the 500 gr is no longer needed for penetration, a 404 gr Hammer or CEB 400 .700 solid will completely pass through a buff or elephant with less recoil and they are always in stock.

Great, we agree! I thought that I made that point by stating,
"I like the Cutting Edge Bullets 450 grain solid at over 2300 fps. With that load I punched holes through my tuskless elephant's head and shoulders, breaking a shoulder on the pass through!"

I am not sure what a CEB 400 .700 solid is...

the original 400 gr 458 bullet the made and still do has a nose length of .460 as the bands are higher up on the bullet not allowing the bullet to be seated longer. Ron Berry AKA RifleCrank and a few of us got Dan at CEB to lower the bands making the nose .700 allowing the bullet to be seated longer out of the case so we could add more powder to about 2500fps. look at their site and the picture of the .700 bullet is the one recovered from a chest shot on my buff under the skin by the tail. the other picture is Ron's out of a Water Buffalo, it is a fantastic follow up bullet on buff with the 420 Raptor as a 1st shot soft/solid.

Good afternoon,

I'm trying to get in contact with Mr Butch Searcy. I have the opportunity to buy one of his rifles chambered in 577 nitro Express however the seller does not have any of the paperwork with the information about what ammunition or bullet weight was used to regulate it. I know he is not making firearms anymore but I wanted to reach out after seeing one of your post about him.

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes
Daryl

Hey Steve, This is Steve Washington we met at KMG last year. I am interested in your Winchester. Would love to speak with you about it. I work third shift and I cannot take a phone with me to work. Let me know a good time to call during one of your mornings. My phone is [redacted]. Live in Florida so I have to account for the time difference.
Look forward to hearing from you.
