To finish up this week's .404 Jeffrey load development we completed collecting data on the 400 Gr Cutting Edge Safari Solid
The point of impact is within .25 to .50 of an inch of the 400 Gr North Fork Semi Spitzer and shoots the same 2300 FPS velocity range depending on barrel length.
Out of a customer's Heym rifle with a 22" barrel it shot what amounts to a one hole group at 2280 FPS average. The 25" barrel rifle was about 100 FPS faster.
The S/D on the ammo was 2.8 FPS... incredibly consistent, in fact across all of the bullet options S/D was single digits!

Based on our performance I would say that the 400 Gr NF Semi Spitzer and 400 GR Cutting Edge Safari Solid make a great 1-2 punch... and until the Swift A-Frames are available again I would not hesitate to send the NF bullets out with a customer to shoot for a soft.

Excellent!!! :D Beers:

OMG - I love that buff detail! Have never really been a gold inlay/detail guy but I love that execution!!! And, CE solids are the bomb!

Doesn’t get much better than that. That will work anywhere in the world on any animal walking.

Cutting Edge are making some crazy consistent bullets now. I’ve been using them since 2012 I believe. Maybe a tad before I know I used them on an Ele hunt in 2013.

Anyway, worked up loads for both Raptors and Solids on a new 450 double. Getting SD under 5 fps with 6 shots both barrels. Wicked accurate too.

I read an older thread that mentioned you having some 9.3x64 brass. Do you still have some? I am looking for 100 pcs, maybe 200.
