Good day
I own a .375 F.R W.I.Lhelm h&h that i inherited and have been hunting with it for many years.
I have a questoin about the make of the rifel .
I have done a lot of research and cant find the real make and origin of the rifel.

I would appreciate it a lot if someone could give me an answer as it has been bugging me for a long time.

Maybe post some Pics of the rifle including proof marks

A Friedrich Wilhelm Heym?

A bolt action, caliber .375 Holland & Holland?........... It may be a "Express" or a "SR 20"?

Are there proof marks?..... picture would be great...

LOL. 5 months to post one pic! More pics would help, show the whole rifle, (rifel) with other pics of the receiver etc.
Otherwise it appears to be if not mistaken, a HEYM rifel, (rifle).

That is curious. I can see the "made in Germany" stamp but those are Belgian nitro proofs for a rifle (barrel and action). I was unaware that Heym ever sourced barreled actions from Belgium.

Yup lost focus on the subject ,i only have a few photos to share of the rifle but sure enough it has a M98 action and has got a hell of a kick because of the light weight of the rifle but nevertheless one of my favorite rifles to go brush hunting.

I have the rifle for over 4 years now and every time i take it out hunting it gets me wondering what everything means.

Dont mind the COLT AR it doesnt look the same anymore ,did a complete rebuil from muzzel to stock.

So, from my library records, three stamps are identified. There is also a stamp that looks like X with asterisk on top, and that is probably individual inspector quatermark.

Does the action have the thumb cut on the left receiver wall?

Mark thanks for the effort i appreciate it a lot but i still dont know when it was made and were Belgian?
The precise make of the rifle is still in the dark?

Heym?
Breneke?
and what is that BBLINDEE behind the .375 m?

At least i know what the proof marks stand for thanks.

A notch in the left wall towards the rear as on a military 98 action. The B Blindee refers to the use of jacketed bullets.

Ok think a better idea is to take n few photos of the receiver and bolt
Wil post it tomorrow

TY

I would say, this is as good as it gets, with quality of given photos as they are.

It is stamped "MADE IN GERMANY", and that letters that read like "HEYM" (but the rest is hardly visible)
Then you have undoublty Belgian proof marks.
At this point it suggests that it is made by Heym, in Germany, from barrel proved in Belgium.

However, this is not necessarily true.

Above serial number on front receiver ring, there is a round mark, which I cannot viualise or identify properly, it is blurred.
I suggest, you make better photo of it, and post it.

It would be helpful to provide more details photo of the right side of the barrel, where "made in Germany" is marked.

Also, I suggest to remove the stock, and check any other eventual proof marks, or stamps on action or barrel under the stock, make photo and post it.

And general overview of the rifle would be hlepful.
Make good quality photo, and post them here.

Finally, you have an option, to contact Heym, directly, with all details, description, photos and serial number, for authentication of the rifle.

In the meantime we have one more mark identified:

The Belgian (PV) proof mark is also on the action. It was proofed in Belgium at least as a barreled action. I think that leaves two scenarios.

1) A Heym rifle was retailed in Belgium and went through the Belgian proof process, or

2) Heym sourced a proofed barreled action from Belgium.

Unfortunately, none of the photos depict the full left side of the action to show whether or not the action is a mil spec 98 or FN.

In either scenario, the result would be a very fine rifle.
