300PRC Load Data Request

I purchased a new Fierce rifle in 300 PRC with a 22” carbon barrel with a 1:9 twist. I’m looking for any information from AH members who might have experience loading 210 gn ABLR bullets or 208 gn TTSX LR. I have a few pounds of N570 and H1000 I can use. I see in the manuals data for RL26 but it is impossible to find locally. Any help would be appreciated.

I shot a Best of the West 300 PRC back in November on a elk hunt. The outfitter used Hornady factory ammo, 225 gr ELD-Match. They don't reload for this caliber, even though they reload a lot of other calibers. The factory stuff is so accurate and reasonably priced, they just use it.

I don’t have any experience with those components so not much help, but I have something if it helps.

I load 230 grain a-tips with Retumbo powder.
Theres published load data from hornady and I run just under listed max. Plenty of load data with the a-tip bullets actually.
I wonder if the fairly slow burning n570 would get a complete burn with those “lighter” bullets. Probably would get good velocities though.

For hunting the factory ammo is good. For long range shooting the extreme spread of the 225 eldm and 212 eldx is much too high in my experience.
That is unless more recent lots are better.

Looking at this link I see an issue. Barnes recommends an 8.5 twist for the 208 grain lr bullet. Maybe a 1:9 twist would be okay. Depends on how conservative Barnes is with their recommendation and what elevation you’re shooting in.

Nosler doesn’t list a required twist for the 210 ablr but Bryan litz in a snipershide forum post says 1:10 works so 1:9 should be good.

I worked up a load with the 200gr LRX in my 9 twist 300 PRC using Retumbo and H-1000, those will be your powders with that lighter weight bullet, my rifle has a 26" barrel, 3100 fps was easily doable, agree with the above, 9 twist may not stabilize the 208gr LRX, it will be perfect with the 210gr Nosler ABLR, give the 210gr Nosler a .6 b.c. if you want to twist turrets.

All that said, the 215gr Berger Hybrid would be a great target shooting bullet for your barrel length if you so choose, it will give the highest b.c.'s and velocity in your 22" barrel using H-1000 or Retumbo.

My rifles preferred target and steel banging load is the 245gr Berger Hybrid at 2900 fps over N570, a wonderfully accurate high energy powder, I use ADG brass, CCI-250 primers and a COL of 3.815" in the four inch Wyatts box and bottom metal, it's a great and fun cartridge, used mine on four whitetail deer in 2023 at ranges from 388 to 569 yards.

I’ve got about [emoji[emoji6]] lbs of h[emoji[emoji6][emoji6]][emoji[emoji6][emoji6]][emoji[emoji6][emoji6]] on hand, so I plan on starting there… I’m hopeful that my :[emoji[emoji6]] twist Christensen Mesa likes the [emoji[emoji6][emoji6]][emoji[emoji6]]gr LRX… all of my brass comes from hornady outfitter [emoji[emoji6][emoji6]][emoji[emoji6][emoji6]]gr cx factory ammo which the rifle shot exceptionally well…

I’m sitting on about [emoji6][emoji[emoji6][emoji6]][emoji[emoji6][emoji6]] Winchester magnum large rifle primers so that’ll be my starting point on the primer side of things..

The ABLR has a lead core. The Barnes is all copper. So if both are equal weight, the barnes will be longer, which requires a faster twist.

I use the Barnes 212 with H1000 and IMR7977 with 1:8”.
