I am three weeks home from my first trip to Africa period and obviously my first hunt outside of North America. I'd guess I spend more time outdoors hunting and fishing than 95% of the population in that states. But wow, that was an awesome experience. A married couple I am friends with won this hunt for four through SCI. My rookie to Africa friend came with us. The couple has been hunting all over the world dozens of times so it was nice to have experience to help us along. I hunted plains game in the Limpopo region within minutes of Botswana border. i really enjoyed my time there and would like to find an operator who can help me with another hunt, similar plains game animals, but I'd also like to make this a trip with my wife and another couple. My wife could take or leave the hunting part. For example, my thoughts are one or two things. I would either do another week long hunt and only hunt with a friend or two. Or I would make this a 17-21 day trip with five days of hunting. My hunt goals would again be plains game, springbok, blue wildebeest, black impala, warthog, honeybadger and maybe a golden wildebeest oh and if I could find a nicer Impala than the one I shot I'd do that. If I do the longer trip I would fly into Cape Town for 3-4 nights, then the thought would be fly to Joberg or Kasane as I would like to spend 3-4 nights at Chobe/Vic Falls, 3-4 nights Kruger and then hunt. I would like the hunt outfitter to help with driving and making arrangements for lodging etc for Chobe/Vic Falls, Kruger and the hunt. I hope this makes sense.

I am looking for help from this group at AH for advice on outfitters that can make this happen for me or if this is unrealistic. I do want to stay in the Limpopo region for this hunt. If I did a separate hunt only trip I'd be willing to look at other areas.

For context I will share my likes and dislikes (mostly likes) from the operator I went with that was Sabudawn Safaris. I would go with them again but either I didn't spend enough money or was a pain in the butt customer as they haven't replied to my request. I'd like to think I was accomodating at being both a friend and willing to spend more money. I ended up only shooting an impala, gemsbuck, duiker and blesbok. It was very tough hunting and I did miss a blue wildebeest, got excited knowing I had to rush so I didn't miss my chance and had a clean miss. Anyway, these are my preferences from an outfitter and in no way a reflection of Sabudawn as I would clearly prefer to stay with them.

I would like a one shop fits all for my hunt and vacation experience. Need not be fancy, but clean, safe, good food and drink, camaraderie with staff, ability to hunt multiple styles (spot n stalk, water holes, safari style), rent weapons, transportation housing and logistics included, ability to take excursions we want (Chobe, Vic Falls, Kruger, Elephant Sands), high success at hunts with quality and variety of game, laundry, no tents or wall tents, en suite bathrooms. Can't think of anything else off the top of my head. I almost forgot to include good quality and variety of game, but that just seems obvious.

Anyway, thanks for having me to your site. If you reply with outfitters that's appreciated, but if you could add context of why. Thanks

It was lovely to read your post! We can most certainly assist! Being situated in Hoedspruit which is being termed the "Safari mecca" of South Africa and close to the world renowned Kruger National Park we can most certainly create this dream trip for you. Everything you mentioned we can help you with.
Many references from clients around the world also available.

You are in luck - my wife is a avid traveler and has created many experiences for my clients before and after the hunts.

I will send you a DM and we can start chatting.

Looking forward to sharing our passion and continent with you.

Sir, if your wife is not a hunter, let me suggest an outfitter in the Vic Falls area as you are planning on going there anyway. She can stay in comfort while you hunt.

I would go with them again but either I didn't spend enough money or was a pain in the butt customer as they haven't replied to my request.
What I have noticed in last 10 years, many outfitters are slow to respond in the middle of hunting season. When the season stops, and they start planning for next season they start to reply on emails.
This is how it is. I am not a fan such correspondence habits but that is how it is.
The trick is just move on, check option with other outfitter, and on this forum there is a lot of reputable sponsors who will accommodate your requests.

Welcome to AH Nash 09!

I would definitely expand out from SA especially Limpopo. Good place to get a small taste of Africa
but it's time to expand into the "bush of Africa". Hunting game farms is not a bad place to start and depending on your budget you may have limited options! Let me suggest that Namibia might be your next stop if you want the things listed. Zimbabwe is a fantastic place to hunt. I've hunted six continents over the last 50 years and Africa has a lot to offer, and your concept of a tent camp likely reflects what I've experienced on 4 of the continents (a backpack tent in west of Alaska or a Yurt in Mongolia) Most African Tented camps with en suite bathrooms are usually quite luxurious and allow you to feel real Africa, however if your significant other thinks a night at Holiday Inn is roughing it you may be stuck. In that case do an African hunt then have her fly over and join you on a vacation you describe! AH.com is the best hunting sight in the world with a wealth of knowledge and information so Welcome!

If you are flying in to JoBurg, you might consider taking the train to Vic Falls. They can even arrange bird shooting stops along the way. I doubt you or your wife will regret it. There are many tested and approved safari operators with AH testimonials to boot and all are probably good. Zimbabwe is not quite the destination I would choose for a golden wildebeest, and parts of it are more known for dangerous game than plains game. If you do want DG, it would be my pick for a number of reasons.

Bruce Watkins is a swell PH who now runs his own show. His wife would be happy to take your wife in hand for extra-hunting alternative activities.

Thanks for the info already. I really appreciate the responses. There is a lot to digest here. Also, just trying to learn how to navigate this site. Hopefully I am replying to all posts with gratitude.

Back After a Long Time – Hello Again!

Hi everyone,

I’ve been a member since 2015 but haven’t been active since 2017. Life got busy, especially with building my second business. Still, I’ve kept my passion for hunting and followed things from afar. Now that I have more time, I’m excited to reconnect, contribute, and be part of the community again.

All the best,
ANDY

I'd like a bag of 100. I could actually pick it up since I'm in North Irving, but if you prefer, shipping it is fine.
