Gents,
I’m pretty sure someone on this forum can help me here.
Summary:
I have a new production 1895 Win 30-06. I have a Williams peep sight mounted on it and it is a thousand times better than the standard Buckhorn. This gun is NOT a collector's piece, it is a tool and I want to enhance my effective range when using it.
I’m 60 and my eyes are the only obstacle when using the peep. I use red dots on many pistols and have scout scopes on a couple of lever guns; both options greatly extend my range.
Preferably, I would like to put a scout scope on my 1895, however, I could “live” with a red dot.
Naturally, this will require a good gunsmith.
I live in North-central Texas a couple hours from the DFW area.
Questions:
1. Do any of you have experience with doing this to an 1895 Win?
2. Do any of you know a good gunsmith that could do this? If they were within a few hours of DFW, it’d be great, however, I’ll ship the gun to the right ‘smith.
Any assistance is greatly appreciated…
