Taking my daughter to SA mid-May for her first safari. I have a shot placement field book, but looking for recommendations for books that might catch her interest quickly or shorter reads or from a female point of view.

Cheers,
Will

"Death in the Long Grass" by Peter Capstick is a fun read and one I think almost every first time African hunter has read for about 50 years.
From a female perspective, you might try "Cries of the Savannah" by Sue Tidwell.

My daughter loved Eva Shockey's Taking Aim. At that age, my son absolutely devoured anything by Peter Hathaway Capstick, but Last Horizons was a series of shorter stories that held my reluctant readers attention

West with the Night by Beryl Markham.

If that ain't the nail on the head. Awesome book.

I would also add Corbett's Man-Eating leopard of Rudraprayag. Having been deep in that book for a project, there is a LOT more to it than just the leopard - which makes it readable by a much wider audience.

I’d add Corbetts book “The Maneaters of Kumaon “ to that. Awesome book, it set me on the trail of a Rigby 275.

I think Natasha Ilum Berg has written a book specifically for teenage girls. Might be worth having a look at that.

The Covenant by Jame Michener

“The Old Man And The Boy” by Robert Roark. Great read, not specifically about African hunting but more about the value and ethics of hunting in general.

Yes, it’s very good. It’s called All Will be Well- Letters to my Daughter. She infuses lots of things in the story

An excellent AH member right here! I had a fantastic transaction with Hornedfrogbbq (I was the seller). His communication was first rate, payment was extremely fast, and I would have absolutely no reservations at all dealing with him again. Thank you, F!
Here we are, the last day of the show in Denver, it's been a good show but expecting a quiet day today. I will be back for-sure to do this show next year and maybe also do the one in Sacramento California.

On Monday I will be hitting the road driving from Denver and eventually make it down to Atlanta for the flight home.

its going to be a good year!

Hi Rem280, Saw your post on getting selected for Idaho Elk. Do you have a zone(s) selected? I live in N Idaho, might be able to offer some ideas.

Cheers,

Craig
