13 ft is big big I have seen bigger in these SC swamps but just by 7-8” or so.

There were pix in Field and Stream of a 15+ foot gator caught by a woman in Alabama.
She potted it in the head with her shotgun when she reeled it in close to the boat. Used a tractor to pull it ashore.
