We returned a week ago and I am still processing and taking in what my son and I accomplished during this hunt as I believe it should take at least 5 safaris to acquire the quality of trophies we did in 8 days. The moon, stars and weather were all in perfect alignment, and I am extremely humbled...
The hunting season is in full swing here at TallyHo, we thought we would just post a bit of an update of our hosting so far...
We have had the honour of hosting quite a few international friends along with our south African friends that join us every year. Some highlights thus far; our new...
Me and my father just returned from a dream come true hunt with @JKO HUNTING SAFARIS , It was truly incredible. But it wasn't that we were hunting on a massive property with no far driving, that our accommodations were 5 star, that we saw trophy animals everywhere. What made the Hunt was Jacque...
Selling two watercolor original paintings my grandfather had commissioned from artist Enriquez in the 1980's. Each measures 29"x24" and is matted on the same material. The wood frames show some signs of wear from various moves but overall the pieces are in "good" condition. One depicts the...
I am in need of a Gemsbuck / Orxy cape for my animal that I recently shot. The cape on it is not usable and I would really like to find a cape so that I can get the animal mounted. Thanks
I came across De Klerk Safaris through a lioness hunt offer here on ah.com and gave Hans a ring via What's App about two months ago. I wrapped up a four day safari with he and his team last week and I can't wait to get back to his lodge. Hans and his wife Marie picked me up in Johannesburg and...
Received my hides back today in the form of Gemsbok and Kudu throw pillows along with Waterbok seats.
No idea what to do with hides from the next safari as I think my wife's patience is wearing thin.
Finally got the taxidermy from my first safari, which was last June in the Northern Cape. Given the limitations of my house, particularly ceiling height, and budget, I went 100% European mount, along with flat skins. I'm headed back in 2021, not sure what the plan will be on the taxidermy front...
One of my two giant Impalas both taken on the same day.
Hi, first time posting but have been a fan of this site for years. This might be long winded but I enjoy when others post detailed stories so, I feel is it my obligation to do the same. Skip down to the end if you want some pros and cons...
My wife and I ventured to the eastern cape of South Africa for our first African hunting experience in early June with KMG Safaris. When we arrived in Port Elizabeth, our PH Marius picked us up and started heading for the lodge. We stopped outside of Grahamstown for a quick bite then headed to...
Well the day finally arrived, the taxidermy from my first African hunt has arrived. After a long day's drive south to the US border, a little paperwork, and g&s tax my trophies were finally headed home. Now to figure out how to best display Matt Kaprauns fine work. Matt has All-American...
We found this very old Gemsbok, but had the chance on a steenbok that stayed at the waterhole for about 20 minutes. We nevehr figured out where the steenbok was putting all of that water.
The Gemsbok was a very heavy horned with splintered horns.
On the last morning of hunt before heading for Johannesburg to come home, we were walking and stalking and managed to cross tracks with this great Gemsbok bull.
In April of 2006 I finally got to hunt Africa. I found that a plains game package was in my price range. On a 7 day safari I had the time of my life. I have been back several times and now have opened our own booking agency in order to help others obtain their dreams.
I hunted Gemsbok in the Karoo area on a large unfenced property, hard hunting and very hilly. We found this old fellow on top of a mountain with an old cow. Shot from 150 meters he ran 70 meters and bled out. His teeth were worn down to the gums and the property owner said he was the biggest...
