You are absolutely correct. The quintessential 375 safari rifle is outfitted with a 1-4 or 1-6 scope. I completely agree. I will be taking my Model 70 topped with a Leica 1-6. This new rifle I wanted something different, a little more magnification. This is more of a want than a need.

Most shots will be under 150 yards. Might take an occasional poke out to 250 yards but the bullet drop gets too to be a bit much for me past that.

That has been my assumption, and I'm glad you confirmed it! As for the range, I currently have the rifle sighted in 2 inches high at 100 yards. That should give me no more than 3 inches above or below point of aim out to about 225. I'm waiting to use my buddy's chronograph to get real numbers...
