We had our Save trip filmed and it is awesome. A good camera man captures the little things you forget and enhances the memories. I can send you his contact if you would like
Our Save Vally croc has arrived today and we need help with the next step. Arrived complete, beautiful fleshed, cured and folded up. Would like skull removed and his tanned. Guess I can cut the head off and boil, but where to send the hide for tanning?
My sons hunted with Dalton last year- patient, fun, smart, professional! I have only hunted the Save, but it was amazing! Lions, elephant, croc, rhino, hyena, buffalo, eland, kudu- truly Africa and Mokore is top notch!
My family hunted with Mokore on the Hammond ranch part of the Save June of 2024. Its amazing place and Mokore provides stellar service. Gary, Dalton and Doug are top shelf hunters, nature enthusiasts and professionals in every way. They staff is professional and friendly. We took 3 buff, croc...
My son and I used Hammers this year on cape buffalo- performance was fantastic. He used the tipped version in his 375 ruger at 2650, and I used the 270 Hunter in my H&H at 2800 fps! I had complete broadside penetration and he had about 30” through left shoulder, boiler room and lodged in last...
It will be a long tang original. Not a collector grade, just good sound long tang which is about to get even better. The Browning’s short tang lacks the handling characteristics of the original pre war guns.
Pulled the trigger today- will have gunsmith convert my Winchester 71 into a 450 Alaskan! Will wear a 22” heavy barrel with quarter rib milled for scount scope and co witness red dot. Topped off with NECG sights and a nice piece of black walnut. She will be tested in Mozambique in 2026 using...
Interesting in peoples experiences with the “best” lion bullet for the 375 H&H? Presume it would be the 300 grain partition or the 300 grain North Fork Percussion tip. What are peoples experiences?
We are headed to Zimbabwe in June, flight from Dallas to Doha, then to Harare to camp. Wondering how best to over come the 8 time zone difference and accompanying jet lag. Anyone have a system? Thanks in advance
The ergonomics are much better, the field of view of the 12x is practically the same as the 8.5 el and the glass is absolutely amazing. I have both and the 12x PUR have to be held and used to truly appreciate
Another issue to keep in mind is ocular size and bolt manipulation. I recently ordered a Scmmidt 1-8, and while the optics were amazing, the ocular was too large to quickly run the model 70 bolt. I expect this to be the case with new Kahles and Swarovski as well. I have used a k16 that is...
The literature I have read is no problem with feeding year round if your pasture is in decent shape. If the deer have to live off it then you have problem, more than just feed probably
My neighbor and his son make that feed. Yes it does work, bears love it, elk and deer will improve on it. Takes a while for them to get on it. Mix it with corn to help get them going.
I am another new guy. We are headed to the Save conservancy to hunt with Mokore in 2024. This will be our first trip. I am hoping to learn a lot from everyone here. First question, which travel agency do most of you use? Second, from Dallas which route to people take to get to Harare? Thanks
