I don't know you personally so let me ignore the jerk comment and assume you are a nice guy :).
More power to anyone who thinks they had a good time and they want to go back to the same outfit.
What I'm trying to point out is if you always go to same place or it's your first time doing it you...
Agreed.
If I read a report of someone who went to Africa first time I take it with a grain of salt regardless who the outfitter is.
Same for the hunter goes to Africa multiple times but sticks with the same outfit.
What's the yardstick?
You don't know what you don't know.
I've been to Africa...
Unfortunately a lot of leopards in RSA are being killed by the ranchers because they are trying to protect their livestock and they have no monetary value for them as hunting is not allowed.
I was there close to two months and heard it time and time again everywhere I went.
Most of the time you can't check in 4 hours before with Qatar.
Their check in counters open only 3 hours before the flight.
However don't worry you'll be fine...
Couple questions as I’m very interested: which concession or private property? Thermal or night vision allowed? Are you a member of Zim Professional Hunters association?
I posted on the other thread and I'll post here one more time.
When I read about this incident I was in Limpopo and hanging out with the PHASA PH of the year.
I directed him into the thread and he immediately alerted PHASA president who at the time was in Zambia(he might still be there hence the...
Then you would be missing a lot of outfitters.
Last month in Zim I hunted with one of the most respected PH’s in whole Africa who culled over a thousand elephants and countless other dangerous game an has a book written. He didn’t even know this forum existed and I told him about it.
Alarm bells would have rung if I was told that this is the only waterbuck on the property. It usually means they don’t have a breeding population and it’s a put and take.
Also no decent PH would have let you use a rifle without seeing you at the range shooting it.
Right now I’m in SA hanging out...
Welcome to AH.
I would highly suggest to go to one of the conventions to meet the outfitters and book a hunt.
Make sure everything written as a contract.
Not right. Seems like outfitter is trying to take advantage of you.
If the price of things changed for him he should eat the difference and keep a good reputation.
You got the draw the line, it’s not about percentages it’s about principles.
I would never hurt with someone who’s trying to nickel...
For me and my son season started early in Bloemfontein South Africa two days ago. We shot close to 40 doves in an hour and quit.
We could have shot a lot more.
Middle East issues can’t be studied and understood in a lifetime let alone 3 days!
Also Israel doesn’t stand between us and Arab World (they stand for themselves)and they also love our money and our politicians love their ultra wealthy Jewish donors.
I have a lot of friends in Israel and most of...
There are a lot of free range areas in SA but operators does not like hunting them because of low success rates or permit issues.
This morning I drove from Franshoek to Beaufort West and drive trough millions of acres low fence areas some very mountainous challenging terrain.
Congratulations...
My
My comment was meant to be a joke.
However when the participation rates are in the 60 % on a good day this argument is meaningless because our elections are stolen by people who are not voting.
We have the lowest rates in the World because a lot of people don’t think anything will change in...
After reading the comments about the upcoming election I came to the conclusion that if Democrats win it’ll be a cheat but if Republicans win it’ll be square
Yes they were including our first President Washington.
Also when you defend the constitution you don't only defend the 2nd amendment all the amendments should be equally important including the14th.
Change it if you can but defend it till it changes by people's will.
Some here seems to pick and...
So how do you think an American citizen should be defined???
Parents born here? What about one of them? or grandparents maybe?
Trump's mom is from Scotland, what about him then???
This kind argument is a slippery slope.
My mom side has been here for eight generations which we can track but it...
Yes, but most free range hunts with decent operators are running in the $6K+ range and it's not low cost considering the duration and facilities.
You can go to Africa nad hunt plains game for that kind of money.
US hunt prices are out of control.
How far are you from Pretoria?
Can you pm me your trophy and culling list prices?
I don't need weapons or transportation currently in Pretoria for a while.
Thanks
I'm currently back in Pretoria after a Zim buffalo hunt staying with my son's family and will be here till Saturday.
I'm willing to drive within two hours to shoot couple warthogs with good tusks and stay a night or two...
No need for transportation or weapons.
You can pm...
Thanks
I’ve seen nothing but either open sights or rmr on PH doubles. I also have a Trijicon rmr one my double installed by JJ.
I would not change it with anything else. As far as accuracy, distance, practice etc.. I say this: if you can hit a paper plate with both barrels at 75 yards you are good to go.
Driving in RSA is better than US imho, specially if you drove on the right side before and used to it.
Getting a driver license in US ia joke and drivers are the worst among developed countries.
Really? How many Asian countries or countries have you been in your life? I’m retired and traveling 3-4 months every year spending weeks at a time in different countries. I’ve been to 70 countries and unlike you I’m not living in an echo chamber and blinded by my political beliefs. I don’t even...
I'm not sure about net zero or it can ever be reached but unlike us China and some Asian countries are doing great things to get rid of plastic waste like plastic bags and bottles.
How is that government action when others here and myself imported trophies from Argentina in the last couple years and his trophies are still in Argentina???
