I would not hesitate to use a 458 wm nowadays, reloading my own ammo with modern powder and bullets, no problem.

Had both 500 Jeffery and 505 Gibbs. 500 J for me thanks. Shorter/Smaller action, and I've had no trouble getting 2250 fps out of a 22" barrel. All that said, they are both fine killers.

There isn't really a bad choice when you get to that price level and up, I will say I own a lot of both brands, and the S & B glass is the best, end of story.

I'd do a S&B, but a different model, probably the 1.5-6 Zenith, about perfect for a versatile 375, and the same price as the Leupold.

Swaro 1-6, Schmidt & Bender Zenith 1-4, even one of the older S&B Klassics in 1-4, can't go wrong with either, you could go 1-8 straight tube from the aforementioned manufacturers, but I feel they aren't worth the difference in price.
