Me and my hunting buddies have discussed having our safaris professionally filmed rather than pay for the taxidermy and shipping. What’s everyone take on that. Not trying to high jack the thread.
Yeah I spoke for the mark 5 he had for sale. I asked for his adress and phone # and all he gave me was his PayPal account. I’m pretty sure he’s a scam. I did not send him any money.
I have had no problem with mine from Alaska to Zimbabwe to California and Kansas.
Yes I’m sure leupold can cut you a turret. I have not had them do one for my mark 5. But I’ve got several they’ve done for me for vx3’s.
They charged my buddy $10 to use the restroom in the international welcome center at the crock farm. . Lol. We weren’t about to tell them we all used it.
Make sure it’s u der the weight limit with the case. Our ammo did not get weighed on our trip last year to Zimbabwe.
It did get weighed on the way home even after shooting some ammo my friends ammo was too heavy when weighed with the case. The police got envolved although they didn’t give us...
On my trip to Zimbabwe last august. I used tsa locks on both my cases. My Buddy did not have tsa locks on his gun case which caused use to miss our flight home in Dallas to Kansas City. Because tsa would not clear his firearms in Dallas without opening the case and inspecting them. Of course we...
I did not with the tsx. We Found both of them of course the 1 was stuck in the spine the petals had came off of it. The 1st shot through the lungs we found stuck in between the ribs on the off side. And was the classic mushroom of the tsx.
I’m using rl15 out of a 24 inch barrel.
375 H&H 300 gr tsx hand loads at 2,641 fps 1st shot broadside at 90 yards took out both lungs just above the heart. 2nd shot anchored him with a spine shot at about a 140 yards running though brush quartering away.
Congratulations. Your pictures and story brings back great memories of my first safari with them last august.I also hunted with Dalton and had my buff down 3 hours into the 1st day. Dalton & York have a great camp and crew. Absolutely loved every minute over there with them. My once in a...
Actually in trap you get no bonus points or handicap shooting against a 12 gauge. Skeet has its own gauge classes. Trap does not. But if you choose to shoot a 410 against a 12 gauge you are a fool. But now you have switched to shotguns which doesn’t translate into rifles.
I see the 308 brung up a few times. Maybe because that’s what our military snipers were issued and people think that’s a sniper round must be a great round. Most snipers hate the 308 and 50 bmg. They are not the best tool for long range shooting.
The king of 2 miles I don’t believe has never...
Stir the pot. Most 50 big loads are steel core. Strictly for long range punch through steel loads. Like going through the block of an engine. Like anti tank rounds. The 105 gr Berger in the 243 was much more suitable for the task and taking the elk without wounding than the 50 bmg
He can do it and has done it with a 7 saum. But if continued time after time skills will diminish with bad habits and knowing subconsciously that he’s going to get punished with every trigger pull.
Exactly the reason John had that lady and his step son start out with a 243. To learn to shoot...
Have been to the range when one group is struggling to hit a 10” amauture plate at 400 yards of a rest on a concrete bench and someone shows up and grabs there 22 creed coyote gun out of the truck and puts there swagger bipod on and runs the pro plates 2”x200 3”x300 4”at 400 5”x500 6”x600 yards...
So the guy doing the instructions is John Burns. He was the host of the original Best of the west tv show. Before him and the Davidson brothers and John Porter went their own ways. He is a very accomplished marksman that burns a couple barrels a year out. He really promotes the high shoulder...
