    577-450 Hunting?

If you do scrounge some old Kynoch your best bet is going to be to pull the bullet, dump the cordite, and reload with black powder. The Kynoch brass is also Berdan primed so it'll take some doing if you want to reload it. Theres a reason my two martini Henry's are .22 and .303

    577-450 Hunting?

First, just know that reloading for these is a PITA as you need a press thst takes the large .50 BMG size dies. Brass can be formed from 24 Guage shotgun shells. I invite you to visit the British Militaria Forum for more info, probably the biggest concentration of 577-.450 reloaders out there.

    Mountain rifles

I'll plug the Sig Cross here. Under 7 lbs before a scope it may not be as light as a Kimber Adirondack or the like, but its still extremely compact with a tool-free fully adjustable stock, its easy carrying and actually fun to shoot unlike the extreme lightweight rifles. If Col. Cooper were...

    Lightweight Hard Rifle Case Recommendations

I recently picked up what is, for me, a rather expensive rifle and am looking for a dedicated case to protect it. The gun in question is a Spencer Carbine and, due to the rather fragile nature of the raised front sight, I think a fitted hard case is the best bet. My wants are a lightweight, not...

R.J. Renner Ruger No.1 Light Safari

Thats precisely why I'm thinking of doing this now. Once the old school smiths retire theres nobody to take their place, and the couple that might will charge double.

R.J. Renner Ruger No.1 Light Safari

The rifle of my dreams us undoubtedly an original turn of the century Farquharson style falling block in .303 British. But, being a young dad on a civil servant salary, that's pretty far out of my means at this stage of life so I settled on a No.1 in .30-06 to scratch that itch but, like anyone...

Rifles: single stack magazines or double stack magazines?

I think the answer is multifaceted: First, the industry standard AICS style magazine seems far more reliable in bolt action rifles than similar industry standard (i.e. AR10 magazines) function in bolt guns. Second, many claim that single stack feeding gives the shooter more flexibility to...

What is the future of the fine firearms market

As a younger millennial (29) I think there is certainly going to be a continuing market for high end luxury- but its going to look a lot different. As the euro-american middle class shrinks there's going to be a shrinking demand in the traditional market for these kind of once-in-a-lifetime...

    Soft Case Recommendation

Last year I was fortunate enough to purchase a vintage Lee Speed rifle and am looking to get a case for it that pairs with the rifle's age and overall quality. Whoever ordered this rifle from BSA must have been an absolute giant as they chose both a Long Lee length barrel and extended LOP stock...
