    Left Hand CZ550 375 H&H

Looking to sell my cz550, I bought it for a hunt that it doesn't look like I'll be able to go on any time soon. It's currently cycling VorTX ammo fine but the action is in need of a proper tuning. I still have the booklets that came with the rifle, but no longer have the box. I can send more...

    Arrows for my safari

The efficiency of bows and how they translate a 70 pound draw into KE has become vastly better in even the last 10 years I've been bow hunting. I know a few of the bows specifically that have gotten consistent elk pass throughs, and some are as low as a 26.5" draw @ 70 pounds. I'll agree that if...

    Arrows for my safari

I've yet to have the opportunity to take any game larger than deer and hogs. I've heard and read Ashby say that, I've also read a fair bit of the study itself. He's bad about doing tests where there's more than one change to the arrow. I believe he is spot on about many things, but I don't...

    Arrows for my safari

Dropping shaft GPI will increase your FOC. Meaning I can keep my dynamic spine in check at a lower point weight for a higher foc. More foc= more better. You can also MASSIVELY adjust foc by fletching choice. Something like a max stealth vs a gateway rayzer feather can lead to percentage increase...

    Arrows for my safari

I'm not shooting ANYTHING heavy. There's no need to in my opinion. I shoot a 420gr 18% FOC arrow from a Mathews v3, 70 pounds @ 27" sevr titanium 1.5"s on smaller stuff and iron will solids for bad angles or bigger stuff.

Could one machine a rear island?

I think we are misunderstanding eachother. That's one of the dovetail slots. I'm referring to the island that houses the rear iron sight.

Could one machine a rear island?

An aimpoint t1 to the rear sight assembly of a large rifle. I currently have a CZ 550 but in particular I was wondering if it's possible with a single square bridge mauser action.

Did you have to rework the magazine or was it a simple barrel swap?

    Arrows for my safari

I've yet to have ANY animal duck the string at 280ish fps. This includes squirrels. To each their own. I've also got pass throughs on all the animals I've shot. When I get a chance to hunt larger animals than whitetail and hogs I'll post those results.

Could one machine a rear island?

Odd idea popped into my head at work last night. Figured I'd see if someone has already done it... could someone machine a rear island into picitinny rail? It's odd, but hear me out. A micro red dot like the aimpoint t1 could be picked up super fast and it'd be much lighter than the large red...

    Arrows for my safari

Every single bow hunter I know shoots an extremely well tuned bow. Your tune is everything. Most if the heavy arrow guys I run into quote Ashby but haven't read the study, or they say "for low poundage shooters". I posted an extremely simplified version of it for everyone to see. Weight is 6th...

    Arrows for my safari

I rely on science entirely in building all of my builds. I'd pay good money to know if these poorly penetrating builds were flying well. My bet is they weren't.

    Arrows for my safari

I've build from 30% foc @ 702gr (highest foc I could get) down to 15% @ 351gr 3d arrows. All bareshaft tuned to fly with a fletched arrow to 20 yards, giving me bulletholes in paper at 5 yards. My 18.9% 425gr arrow passed through on a nearly frontal shot, breaking scapula and exiting the rear...

    Arrows for my safari

I've shot axis 4mm a fair bit on deer, at 29" and 70 pounds I'd want ATLEAST 300 spine, if not 250. I really like the .204s, particularly the victory RIP TKO. If they don't have a weight requirement I'd shoot no heavier than 450gr. If you want me to I can throw something together on archers...

    The big, bad 375... isn't?

I have a tic tok lol. I'm hoping to one day own a larger rifle but for now I'm content with the 375. I read a fair bit about the recoil and had some concerns but it's very tame. I prefer it to my friends 300wm AND I get to snootily call most rifles "small bores" now that I have a medium bore...

I too am a lefty, welcome to the struggle. No Africa trips planned quite yet, but I've started a savings account for it, bought the rifle and begun to get proficient, and got it signed off by my better half so now its just a matter of time and funds.

    The big, bad 375... isn't?

A couple week ago I bought my very first big (to me) bore rifle. A 375 h&h. I've been hearing from friends and coworkers about what a monster it would be, that that it was going to be way too much recoil. This got in my head a bit. I finally made it to the range and all the standing shooting...

I'm not sure, the other side looks the same though if you look in the picture with the extractor.

They are factory PPU 300gr round nose. Bought some dummy rounds off of Amazon and it'll unseat the bullet and push it into the case before it'll feed.

    CZ feed issue

Emailed CZ and they said best of luck in the aftermarket. Any idea where I can find an extractor?
  46. Hall

    CZ feed issue

Some pictures for reference, incase I'm wording this wrong. If I cheat the bullet onto the feed ramp, it feeds just fine. Otherwise it binds the action.

    CZ feed issue

Bought a cz550 in 375 h&h today. Having trouble feeding 300gr round nose from the left hand side. Right hand side feeds like a dream. The bullet seems to not go onto the feed ramp. The gentleman who sold it to me said it cycled spitzer profile ammunition just fine but I didn't have any on hand...
