    Must be nice…

I am with @LivingTheDream, I’ve heard it more times than I can count. If it’s from somebody who actually hunts my answer is “It is, let me know when you’re ready to go and I’ll help you make a plan.” If it’s from a non-hunter, my answer is “ it sure is” and I leave it at that. I know what I do...

    Range finding binos

I have had a pair of leica geovid for a couple of years now and have taken them to Africa 3 time, Alaska once and Utah once on hunts and they have worked great. I sue them all the time deer and pig hunting here at home as well.

What was your first African Animal?

An oryx in Namibia in 2009. An old, heavy bull with a broken horn tip on one side. Shot him with a 300 Win at about 100 yards. Was shooting 200 grain TBBCs, loaded by Federal. One shot and done. That Browning rifle and those cartridges served me very well for many years. Only rifle I’ve ever...

    Greatest athlete of modern times

Best athlete I’d say Bo Jackson. Best competitor in their chosen sports, Joe Montana, Michael Jordan, Tom Brady, Derek Jeter, Greg Madux. These are some to come to mind. Obviously I am biased based on my age and who I watched regularly growing up.

If you had to start your gun collection over

I have contemplated this several times, especially here lately. The first thing I would have done 30 years ago would be to buy left handed model 70s when they were being produced in each long action they made, 270 Win, 30-06, 7 Rem Mag, 300 Win, 338 Win and 375 H&H in the Safari Classic...

.404 Jeffery Barnes Banded Solids 400gr.

These are fantastic bullets. I used them on an on land hippo in 2023 and one of the recovered bullets looked like it could have been cleaned up and reloaded. If I was still in the 404 Jeffery game, I'd be all over these. I use these in .416 in my 416 Rem and they performed flawlessly last year...

GUN & TROPHY INSURANCE For Worldwide Insurance For Guns, Trophies & Hunts

@PARA45, a couple of weeks ago I decided I wanted more coverage for my rifles than provided by just my home owners insurance, since I travel with and ship rifles fairly regularly. My biggest concern was how much of a hassle would it be if I actually had to file a claim for a damaged rifle...

    Bullet selection for Dangerous 7

@Acopperdawg, it just came down to my 416 being more comfortable to shoot in practice. My 458 Win was a little on the lite side and the 416 is a lot easier to feed than the 404Jeffery so I sold those two and just focus on practicing as much as possible with the 416 Rem.

    Bullet selection for Dangerous 7
