I have shot several buff and use Barnes tsx. They work very well.

Both work. I have used both. A suppressor lowers the recoil the best... I have my DG rifles threaded for a suppressor. Some countries do not allow suppressors so you just go shoot without one and use the mercury insert.

I have shot both a lot. Both will do what you want done. Buy the one you like to shoot. Or buy both, shoot both and see which you like. For me - I would go with the .270 for all you have mentioned. Why? Because I have done it with the .270 a few times and not had an issue.
