As someone who has shot a few doubles…I’m more than happy with my Bolt-guns and see no reason to change.
Leave the double rifles to the PH and simply focus on getting your job done.
I have the previous edition of this spotter - the non-APO version. I bought it 15+ years ago…and have never found a reason to upgrade.
These are absolutely amazing spotters. GLWS!
I haven't used one of these myself, but I was looking very closely at them for a backup sight at one point. I thought it was a really well thought out piece of kit.
Good luck with it and please report back!
It was…well…several decades ago I was working at a gun range. Seems we had a GP100 on the rental line. Looking at it after a cleaning, my co-worker and I realized the barrel was virtually a smooth bore. There was this one sliver of rifling, about 2 inches long towards the end of the...
I think the first question is what game do you have in mind?
Second question: what is your own personal range limit?
Final thought: if you are comfortable with the 460 or 475, then I’d skip the 350 altogether. I don’t see it adding much of anything that the other two don’t already do...
This.
I took 10x42 Leica’s on my first safari…on my Second and after I took Zeiss Victory F’s in 8x32’s and 10x32’s…the 8x32’s on the stalk…10x32’s in the truck (or for my wife when she came).
The smaller size and lighter weight of the x32 bins made a huge difference to me by the end of a long...
Whichever one shoots better in your rifle. Either is a good bullet.
I’ve used e-Tips in my 7mm RMag on plenty of PG in Africa - they shoot great in my rifle and hold together as expected. Also used e-Tips in Alaska on a Sitka Deer as well as a Mountain Goat.
In fact, I have a bunch of...
I see zero point in the new cartridge. At 80k psi, that thing is going to be LOUD and recoil will be more pronounced. It quite literally is forcing people to ante up for a silencer, add another 10-12 ounces and 7” to a rifle.
Unless someone wanted to hunt at extreme distances…in which case...
Lehigh Defense make a bullet very similar to that. If I were forced to choose one bullet in the .429 caliber to load up heavy in my .44, this would be it.

I’ve also loaded up 310 gr. Hardcast bullets in the WFNGC design. I suspect...
I have read on many occasions “this bullet could be reloaded and used again”.
I challenge you, Good Sir. Please do! Would you load that same bullet a second time and take a second game animal please?
I’d love to know how many times a single bullet could take how many possible game animals...
A No. 1 is a fine rifle to use for PG. I took a Merkel K1 single shot in 7mm RM for my second safari and never felt slighted by it.
As to the PRC, I used a .300 H&H in a Pre-64 M70 on my first safari…there’s absolutely nothing not to love about a 180gr. Mono-metal at 3,000 fps.
Here's a very nice package of shooting supplies.

Let's bump this up with some new prices:

Jager, I am truly sorry to hear of your health issues. My best thoughts your way!
In the meantime, I am certainly going to peruse your posts when they come up! That Pre-64 is gorgeous!
I will run some oil and brush it. No rust that I saw today…but I’ll be honest, I was feeling a bit lazy today. :)
Please send me a PM with a phone number. I’ll text you any pic you want.
