I recently got my Jim Wisner built 416 Taylor back and couldn’t be happier. Currently shooting 350gr Speer mag tips at 2450 and not pushing it. Accuracy is superb and as it’s mostly an elk and bear rifle for now I’ll take it. It currently has a nightforce Nxs 2.5-10 for bears and elk though I...
Thank you for the info sir, I’ll step on the gas more once I have the first 100 rds down the barrel so I know it’s broken in and sped up.
Even at 2425fps nothing will walk away from it and it’s semi enjoyable to shoot though it is sporty off the bench working up loads lol
Got the rifle back from Wisner and as expected it’s a dream to handle!
Decided to start with the Mag Tips as the barrel is brand new and they are cheaper for break in. Played with 3 different powders and over 5-7 grain work ups and they all were landing in damn near the same hole at 50 yds...
Vudoo’s are addictive. Mine was built for benchrest but I now shoot a little nrl 22 with it so it was sent out for some serious spiral flutes to lose weight. Not even sure what the stock is as it was a garage sale pickup that I stripped of paint and shot a few coats of 2 part metallic gray Epoxy...
I have several pistols I carry at times or certain places. Day to day probably 90% of the time it’s a Glock 45 with some custom slide milling and a direct cut for irons in front of the rmr as I don’t like plates. Talon rubberized grip tape but otherwise trigger and internals are stock and...
lots of guys have killed cape buffalo with the 300 tsx and a 450/400 or similar round so can’t imagine a brown bear walking very far with one in its chest either
I like the larger lens of the SRO. I would also suggest using a Jagerwerks BROS shield over it. Adds a ton of protection to the large lens.

I have a 416 Taylor being built currently and am debating what bullets to use. I do not know that this rifle will ever make it to Africa so it’s primary uses are likely to be black bears, elk and just shooting for fun.
I’m currently leaning towards either the 350 tsx, 370 woodleigh SS or the...
My experience matches yours. I’ve sent several leupolds back. I have 20+ NF and 6-8 Trijicons and never had the first issue with any of them regardless of what they are one. Hell I have had an NXS 2.5-10 on a a couple flyweight 375”’s and over 500+ rounds of heavy 300 tsx have never had an issue.
A buddy of mine is friends with Jim Wisner and it sounds like he may be willing to do the work. I would be very happy to have a Wisner built rifle in my safe.
I’ve had a desire to own a 416 of some flavor for too long so it’s time to build one. Current thoughts are either 416 RM or Taylor depending on what action I end up with.
I have a Legendary Arms Works m704 in 7 mag that I’m thinking I may use as the donor but that may force me to the Taylor as...
I now own TrapperEricks old 8x68S and am looking for some load ideas. I have a ton of 200 gr speers and 185 Core Lokts for it. I have lots of powder options but if o could use only 8# jug of Win 760 all the better.

It has some ring marks in the finish from my old Warne split rings but tube is not dented or pinched. Glass is clear and scratch free.
Just a nice vintage Zeiss.
The rings are American Rifle Company 1” 20mm (.79”) tall. I don’t recall ever mounting a scope in them and they look brand new.
