Either will work just fine. I grew up in Colorado and still go back to hunt every year. Have successfully taken elk with 270, 7mm mag, 300 Savage, 30-06, 300 win, 300WSM, and .50 cal muzzleloader. As others have said - a premium bullet and good shot placement will get it done everyone.

braai-broodjies are a favorite of mine as well. My last trip I sliced some sausage links in half lengthwise and added to the Onion and cheese braai-broodjie - the entire camp thought I lost my mind - but it was delicious.

I would assume you mean the 308 with a thermal isn’t ideal. If you’re not paying attention you get a little scope to the eye? I have had good luck with 300BLK suppressed with a thermal for pigs.

For the largest plains game I would lean towards a heavier bullet. From my limited knowledge of all things 7mm I would guess that would narrow the selection down to the which 7 can accurately shoot a 190-200 grain bullet. 7x57 or 7PRC ?

Not an expert but I’m not sure that is blued - it could be a cerakote of some sort. If so, would probably need to be sand blasted off and then polished

As others mentioned above - I prefer cotton shirts due to the thorns and snagging, my Tag shirts hold up really well. If you prefer the synthetic PFG shirts I imagine they would be very comfortable, but may get ruined
