    Judging Kudu

If you say you have a 50“ Kudu, what does that mean: - 50“ Horn length? Or - 50“ SCI (length + base)?

    Warthog Skeleton

I teached them on the Farm how to clean them. They macerated the Skeleton in mesh bags and did the normal Dip & pack procedure. I just payed the normal Dip & Pack prices for a plain Warthog skull (something about 70-80€). The Farm does the Dip&Pack itself and also manages the shipping. I would...

Iam also working with beetles at home (mostly on much smaller animals, up to roe deer or wild boar skulls), but the degreasing is much easier when they are cleaned via maceration.

    Warthog Skeleton

Thanks, im currently also working on cobra skeleton :) In generel iam building 90% Bird and reptile skeletons, since i dont have enough space for many skeletons in this size. There is no real secret. The best way to receive clean bones is maceration (rotting in warm water). if you keep the...

    Warthog Skeleton

So yesterday i spend some more Time on the Skeleton. Some bones sadly have some little rust stains, but ill maybe cover that with an airbrush. Now there is just some work left: - articulation of the last Finger bones - attaching the sternum and rebuilding the cartilage -proper attachment to...

    Warthog Skeleton

This is the current Status of my Warthog Skeleton. I have shot the sow in November and received the dip&pack Skeleton in March. Since the bones were still greasy, but not overboiled, I did some more degreasing and whitening on the bones and the skull. The bones were requested like this by me...

Crate arrived, cleaning up overboiled skulls

Yes the last weeks waiting were for me like a small child waiting for Christmas [emoji3] Hopefully the situation with corona gets better soon, so I can take my next trip this year [emoji13]

Crate arrived, cleaning up overboiled skulls

Yes, I was afraid of a much worse condition. Especially if broken/missing nose bones. Today I cleaned them already a bit with soaking them in enzymes and dawn in hot water (about 70 degrees Celsius)

Crate arrived, cleaning up overboiled skulls

Hey together, Yesterday was the happy day on which my crate arrived from last years hunt. Sadly the skulls are a bit overboiled, but still at some parts greasy. I want to clean them a bit more, but I haven’t decided yet what to do. I do lots of European mounts (with beetles) and also...

Well I've Done It Now!!! (Joining The R8 Cult)

No, it’s not. The 8,5 is much stronger. Iam using the SAX KJG (a German manufacturer). The 8,5 has 1030m/s and 4775joule, the .338 has 880m/s and 3485 joule. It’s more likely a 8x68 for short barrels in my opinion. I have measured 1020 m/s with a 52cm barell

You wont regret it :) Iam using my R8 since 5 Years, first with the 8x57is and now since two Years with the new Blaser calibre 8,5x55. Iam using it in Germany for Wildboar, Roe Deer, Red Stag hunting and also in Namibia for Plainsgame. It works really great :)
